The next day, school never seemed to end. As soon as the last bell rang, I was out the window and headed towards the library.

After an hour, Lara joined me, plopping down in the seat next to me.

"Did you find anything on that place we saw yesterday?" She asked, looking at my laptop screen curiously. The red '14' symbol glowed in the corner. I had the new touchscreen model that wasn't out yet via Granny's connections.

"If you mean the house we broke into yesterday, then yes. There's a file for it in the Pickup Box." I said, pointing at the screen.

"Pickup Box?" I nodded.

"Yeah, it's a place made by the police for unsolved cases or cases that may be revisited. Granny gave me an account. " I pulled up the tab with the case on it.

"The house was a murder site, Lara. A family of nine lived there, seven kids, two parents. The oldest at the time was....14, youngest 4. Let's read..."

"At 6:42 pm, the officers entered the Griffin household after receiving calls about a missing paperboywhit sad last seen entering the house. They found evidence of brutal murders.

Signs of eating on the corpses; none were intact. Eight total. No distinction available. The father's corpse was not identified, nor was the corpse of one of the children, the youngest child.

Suspect: Denver Griffin, father of seven

Witness: N/A

No further evidence."

We were silent for a bit.

"So....do you think....that that man...was involved with this?" She asked nervously. I shook my head.

"This happened ten years ago, and the person I saw couldn't have been older than eighteen. I said, mostly to calm myself. I scrolled down, looking for something more.

"Case retired due to reassurance from 14..." I read out loud. Lara made an 'Aha!' Face.

"Maybe that company has something to do with this!" She said excitedly. I shrugged, unenthusiastic after learning of our previous encounter's past.

"Oh, come on! You agreed to help me, right?" She gave me the puppy eyes. I averted my eyes, but it was too late.

"Tomorrow after school." I told her while packing up my stuff.

"Wait wait wait! You aren't leaving until we research this more!"

We spent the next come of hours combing over 14's website. There was absolutely nothing on the Griffin family, nor was there any reason for them to be involved in the case.

I also took the opportunity to explain a theory of mine to Lara.

"I think that this guy might return here, and soon. Judging by the pile of feathers, he comes every couple of weeks or so, and he's been doing it for a while. So sometime during this month he should return." I told her. Lara brightened up immediately and started reading even more. But hours passed and there was barely any breakthrough.

"Grrrr. My spidey senses are tingling....but we should stop for today." Lara said, closing her own laptop with a sigh.

"But we're totally going to figure this out tomorrow, got....achoo!....it?" Lara said, pointing at me. I rolled my eyes.

"You should get home before that cough turns into something nasty." Lara had the strangest immune system I had ever seen. She could spend an entire day in a blizzard and come out just fine, but get a fever from a mildly windy day.
