While there are a lot of troupes out there that could belong to any ship, I feel like hamsters are very much an Adrienette thing. The fact that it appears in both of their daydreams are just the cutest thing. Anyway, vote and comment if you've enjoyed! -Colorado

Even before Adrien had ever entered the scene, Marinette knew that she wanted a hamster when she was older. Because of the bakery, Marinette was never able to have any pets besides the occasional goldfish. In a fit of seven year-old rage, younger Marinette had started searching up all of the adorable pets she would never get to have and while she loved the kittens and puppies she saw, she noticed that the classic "first pet" for a child was either a goldfish or a hamster. She obviously preferred the hamster and the liking just spiraled from there.
So it made sense that any time she daydreamed about her future, a hamster made an appearance. It was the one thing that was kept constant throughout her years of crushing on different boys. Ever since seven year-old Marinette had looked up possible pet stores to get them at, she looked forward to the day she could call a hamster hers.
She had just never imagined she'd be adopting one with Adrien Agreste at her side.
Honestly, their relationship still felt like a fever dream to Marinette. One day, he had asked her if she wanted to attend a video game competition with him, and their relationship grew from there. It was obvious to everyone but them that their feelings were mutual, and it took some serious matchmaking from Alya and Nino for the two of them to finally work things out. But now that she was here, she never wanted to go back.
"I think a hamster would be a great idea." Adrien said as they dined on Chinese take out.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah! I've always wanted a hamster, but Father was way too strict for that."
"Me too, sorta. I couldn't have pets because of the bakery. If hair got into the food it'd be curtains." Marinette shivered. "But of course, seven year-old me hated that and started to look up pets just to spite my parents. I liked hamsters the best, of course."
Adrien let out a laugh.
"I can totally see you doing that. And how could you not love hamsters? They're just so cute!"
"Right? Unfortunately, Maman and Papa didn't see much sense." She grumbled, stabbing a piece of her orange chicken.
"Guess cuteness just doesn't win out over practicality." Adrien tsked.
"What a shame." Marinette shook her head.
"Indubitably." Adrien faked a posh accent and they maintained eye contact for all of two seconds before bursting into giggles.
"So, you'd be okay with getting a hamster?"
"Are you kidding me? Of course! I love them and it'd be a great way to celebrate all of this." Adrien gestured around him to the practically empty apartment.
Their practically empty apartment. After dating for two years, and graduating high school, they had decided to take the leap and move in together. They would both be starting university soon, and every saved penny counted. Plus, Marinette was tired of coming home and not seeing Adrien.
The apartment was rather simple, a door opened into the main living space with a kitchen along the back wall, along with a hallway that led to a bathroom and two bedrooms. Plus windows along the left wall. It was nicer than anything Marinette had expected to get for her first apartment, but Adrien had put his foot down and got them something nice. He was so stubborn sometimes, which of course, only made her love him more.
