Tonight was my date with Calum and I was beyond nervous. He was a nice boy, very nice, but we had just met. But then again, isn't that how people met? Meeting at the worst times and falling in love. Cheesy, right?

I knew Calum wasn't the one for me. I knew there was someone out there that had everything for me. Calum was just a step in the worlds plan for me and I was perfectly okay with that. I couldn't find the one for me without knowing what I didn't need first.

"Calum Hood, really?" Ashton said as he appeared in the mirror behind me. "Why Calum?"

"Why not Calum? He's a very nice boy and he's highly attractive," I responded to my twin brother.

Ashton had always judged the guys that I dated. I couldn't tell if it was a brother thing or if he just liked making fun of everyone.

"Okay look, I know he fancies you and I know you fancy him, but what if something like that happens between him and Luke again? You've known Luke for longer and he's more trustworthy than a boy you've just met at a party." Ash said, looking concerned.

"When I get back from the date, I'll tell you how it goes, okay? And if I decide that he's not a right fit then I won't ever talk to him again and you can say that you were right about this one," I told my brother.

Ashton sighed, "I just don't want you getting hurt, Nat. I'm your brother and I'm supposed to protect you, but I can't do that if you won't let me."

"Ashton, I know," I smiled as I pushed him out of the bathroom.

I had a bad feeling about this date. Ashton normally didn't warn me about boys until it was too late. I guess this was his warning about Calum.
-
"Oh my god-" Calum said when I answered the door, "you look even better than you did at the party."

I giggled in response, tucking a small piece of hair behind my ear. I didn't really know what else to do. I didn't know Calum well, so I couldn't strike up conversation with him like I could with my friends.

"Are you ready?" He asked, taking my small hand in his much larger one.

I nodded and let Calum guide me to his car where he opened the passenger side door for me. He waited until I was in the car and closed the door for me, even though I was perfectly capable of doing so myself.
-
"What do you want to eat Natalie?" Calum asked once we were sat down at the restaurant.

Calum had chosen a small Italian restaurant downtown. Little did he know that it was my favorite. I came here at least once a week. Embarrassing? Yes. But they had excellent food.

"I'm going to get the margarita pizza. What are you going to get?" I asked, giving the same question to Calum that he had just asked me.

"I'm gonna get spaghetti and meatballs," he nodded. He closed his menu and pushed it off to the side so as to not get distracted by it. I don't know what was so distracting about a menu but hey- whatever. To each their own.

"That's so basic of you," I joked, not knowing what else to talk about. Calum was making it hard to keep up a conversation when all he responded with were five words or less.

I knew Calum was nervous and that was fine- I was too, but I expected more from the boy who seemed to be infatuated with me at the party just three days ago. He seemed awfully quiet tonight.

"It's my favorite," he giggled. His giggle was adorable. Extremely adorable. Like puppy-falling-over-because-it-was-running-too-fast adorable. And that was adorable.

I laughed as well, not knowing what else to do. I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, something that I seemed to do a lot when I was nervous.
-
"Dinner was great, thank you for that," I stood on tip toes, kissing Calum on the cheek. His cheeks turned a bright red. He was embarrassed and it was adorable.
