It looked like the gods were toying with him. That his life hadn't already been fucked up enough, now everything was folding onto itself, collapsing.
"Why don't you sit down, Naruto Kun."
The old hokage said after an Anbu had fetched him to the office of hokage. Men stood there, old men, men of power and men of position as they stared at him.He kept quiet as he looked around the room, his lips pressed shut. Thete stood Shikaku Nara, Shikamaru's father whom he had met many a times before when he was playing with the Nara heir. Hiyashi Hyuga was scowling at him with a murderous glare, obviously aware of how he had lashed out on his daughter yesterday. Fugaku Uchiha stood, arms folded, his eyed, obsidian black, studying him.
An old man stared at him, silent, a kanji for oil carved on the forehead protector, a scroll strapped onto his back. Naruto felt warm in heart, as if he had felt the first ray of sun after the winter had been overcast with foggy skies for far too long. This old man was important. The person who terrified him the most however was Inoichi Yamanaka. The man could read minds, and he was fucked up in there.
The anbu pushed him onto the seat, not very kind as he did so. Naruto hissed, his eyes snapping to the Anbu as he pushed him, too fast that he shocked himself. The Anbu staggered and then disappeared, but Naruto knew he was there, beneath the floor boards, he could still sense him.
"We found that Orochimaru was experimenting with children." Hokage announced to the audience. "They all has a cursed seal that after Jiraiya's study, he confirm to be derived from your own seal, Naruto kun, the one in your hand. They are considerably simpler and quite easy to seal away unlike your own which doesn't seem to be something we can seal." The hokage sighed. "Out of ten, only one recipient survived the night. We believe he might have been the one to put that seal on you."
Naruto looked at his hand, the mark exactly where it had been.
Was it all Orochimaru? He tilted his head. Were all those memories on his head a sick joke from the snake? He always felt disgusted around the sanke, something wrong with the way he even looked at other people. He remembered how the snake helped him with sealing scrolls, how he answered almost every one of the question he asked, how he wanted blood in exchange for things.
He remembered how the Sannin told him about his chakra reserves and explained how and why he was having trouble controlling it. The Sannin had encouraged him to train in chakra control. Taught him shadow clone technique and taught him about it's advantages.
"So?" He asked. "How am I related to it?
He looked at the hokage. "I was sick, he was the only one who bothered to ask how I felt, I don't think he was experimenting on me."Hiruzen saw something in those bright blue eyes. Doubt, utter doubt on everyone the boy looked at, he didn't believe in him.
"Speak with more respect." Hissed the Hyuga. "You are talking to the hokage of the hidden leaf."
Hiruzen frowned at the intervention of Hiyashi. The reports hadn't lied, he had heard much.
In four months, Naruto had changed too much. First it was his sudden lack of enthusiasm. He wasn't as loud mouthed or as attention demanding as before. In the four months after incident, there were only two recorded incidents of him.announcing that he would become the hokage and that was when he was asked about his dream in his classes. This itsemf had troubled him because he had believed that he understood the kid very well. Then he was shocked by the boys increased perception. The Anbu reported that the boys would at times simply stare at where they were hiding. When they moved, he would look at them again, he was perhaps a sensor type ninja in becoming, hiruzen had thought, gaining byakugan and all but it was even more concerning as he wasn't even using byakugan when he did so.
