Chapter 8 - Mom

Joana's POV

“hi! I’m Morgan Nettleton!”

“hi I’m Logan Nichols”

“hi i’m Joana Heils and i feel so short”

The 3 of them burst into laughters.

“you’re not that short, Joana.. we’ve encountered so much girls that are much shorter that you,” Lauren said.

“was that a compliment or an insult?” I asked while i crossed my arms.

“a compliment.. aaaa you’re so cute Joana!” Morgan said while pinching my cheeks.

“hmm..” I grinned.

“hey, Lauren. Can i talk with you for a while? Just you and i..”

“yeah, sure. Uhh is it ok, Joana?”

“i’m cool,” I replied.

“ok.. lets go Lauren”

Morgan’s POV

“spill it, An,” Lauren said.

“is she an Enchancer? Cause we’re so dead if she’s an Enchancer!”

“i dont think so.. If she is an Enchancer she’d know me since the first time she went in my class. I mean, MOST of Enchancers would freak out when the see me. They’d curse me or whatever cause if his (Greyson’s) ex,” lauren rolled her eyes.

“and they’d curse me too cause I’m Greyson’s bestfriend. Ok, whatever. So it means that she knows nothing about us. Ok, lets go back to her”

“okay...”

Joana’s POV

I saw Lauren and Morgan came out from that corridor, I wonder what they were talking about just now. Was it about me? Did they find out that I’m an Enchancer?!?!?! OH NO THIS IS NIGHT MARE.

“Lets go to cafetaria, Jo,” Morgan said.

Nothing suspicious ..

School bell rang and echoed throughout the school. Many students in the class was awakened from their sleep. Ugh, nobody likes math class. Nobody but the geeks. I took my books and then walked to my locker. I took what I need and walked out leaving the school area. Suddenly someone pulled me backward.

"AAA!" I then turned backward. "Lauren! You gave me a heart attack "

"HAHAHAHAH!!! You should've seen your face! Your face looks funny! "

"Not funny, lauren"

"Of course it was funny!! Hahaha!! Ok, ehmm .. ok, can I visit your house ..? "

"Yeah, of course, come on!"

"Ok!"

"err.. this is your house?"

"yup. my dad's boss let us live in this house"

"ohh.."

She keeps on staring at the house on my right. I'm sure she knew that its Chance's house.

"why? is there something wrong?"

"NO! nothing is wrong.. hehe"

We walked to my porch and i pressed the door bell.

“hey,Joana! You’re home!” my mom said as she opens the door.

“hey mom..” I said and i kissed her cheek.

“I see that you brought a visitor here.. would you introduce her to me?”

“hi Mrs. Heils I’m Lauren Westphalen, I’m Joana’s classmate,” she said with a very sweet smile. I LOVE HER SMILE SO MUCH SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL OMGOSH WHY AM I TALKING SO MUCH.

“hey there, Lauren.. come in! I baked some cookie earlier you should try it!”

“sure!”

We walked in the house and sat on the couch. My mom then back with plates on her hand.

“here.. fresh from the oven,” my mom said.

“Gosh! It smells so good! It must be super delicious!” Lauren took a cookie from the plate. "OH MY GOSH THIS IS THE MOST DELICIOUS COOKIE I'VE EVER TASTED!! THIS IS SUPER GREAT I LOVE IT!!!!!! I CAN EAT TONS OF THESE WOW!"

My mom blushed. YES she blushed!"

"you should come here more often so I can bake your more cookies," my mom said.

Lauren smiled and nodded. "Of course I will!"

My mom and Lauren seem to get along fast. They have a lot of things in common, like, they both talk  a lot, they like to swim (which I hate and dont ask me the reason why i hate it), etc. It seems like they've known each other since a very long time! yeah i admit it I'm a bit jelly here cause my mom and I rarely get along together.. Yeah, so this is my new life here in Oklahoma. This is now my home . I've met different faces from different places. I've been dreaming of living in Oklahoma and here I am now. and I know the reason that it all could happen is because of Him and His kindness.
