The wind was crazy in the helicopter, I was extremely happy that I had put my long cumbersome hair in a ponytail this morning. I looked down below us from the helicopter window. I knew I would start to get scared, but I also loved the view. I could see the city and the green fields below. I would've felt safer if I was with Eleanor, she always made me feel safe. I giggled think about when I yelled to her, I probably damaged the pilot's ear for good. I had forgotten I had my earpiece on when I yelled. So far I've had bad luck with everyone that worked for SHIELD, hopefully, I'd make more friends. I heard the pilot say something in code. He must've said some sort of password to get passed a certain area. SHIELD was extremely careful when it came to their headquarters. I've heard many stories about people ambushing SHIELD helicopters and using them to sneak into the SHIELD headquarters. Of course, they never got very far, especially when the Avengers just so happened to be hanging out at SHIELD. I smiled. I can't wait until something like that happens when I'm working there! That is, if Fury thought I was good enough. I put my finger on my earpiece, that's what they did anyways.

"Hey, are we there yet?" I asked curiously. I was about to mouth off at the pilot for not answering, but he replied, this was new for SHIELD.

"We're almost there, Agent Kranz." I smiled at the formality.

"Call me Abby."

"Alright then Abby, we'll be landing very soon." I smiled widely. It was almost over, no more awkward annoying car rides, and no more helicopters. I felt my stomach turn, next I had to meet Nick Fury. I put my finger back on my earpiece.

"Take your time." I told the pilot, my voice was shaky. I heard him laugh through my earpiece. I felt like crying, screaming, and jumping for joy. All my emotions were mixed. Meeting Fury was such an honor, but was I ready? Did he think I was ready? was he calling this meeting to tell me that Eleanor made it and I didn't? Was I going on a mission? My eyes started watering, hot tears slid down my face. I wiped them away as fast as I could, crossing my fingers that the pilot didn't notice. Not only was I nervous and panicking, but since I didn't sleep much last night, my emotions were out of control. I tried thinking of Eleanor comforting me, but it only made it worse since she wasn't actually there. I then started focusing on my breathing, which helped a bit.

"Pilot Hanson and Agent Kranz, ready to land. Clear the runway." I heard the pilot say. As soon as I got off the helicopter I saw Eleanor. I ran up to her and hugged her as tightly as I could. She stumbled back a bit, but returned the hug.

"I hate helicopters!" I say gruffly. El chuckled and puled away from our hug.

"Huh. I rather enjoyed my ride!" I rolled my eyes and grabbed her arm. We walked confidently over to a group of men, obviously waiting for us.

"Um.. Hi?" We both said awkwardly. The leader of the group told us to follow them. We quickly followed them down some corridors. Eleanor turned to me.

"Where on earth are they taking us?" I shrugged.

"I dunno," I answered, "Meeting room?" I honestly had no idea, but it was the only thing that made sense.

"Probably." El agreed. Soon, we found out we were right. We turned the next corning and heard Nick Fury talking. I knew it was him by his one of a kind voice. The leader gestured us to walk in.

"Well, here goes!" I heard Eleanor mumble. I gave her a nervous smile, and we walked in. Say something! I told myself.

"H-hi!" I said stuttering. Everyone's heads turned towards us.

"Ah. Agent Permafrost and Agent Heatwave! I see you have arrived!" Fury said with his normal bored tone. Annoyed with the small talk that was about to happen.

"Uh huh!" I said managing to sound half polite.

"Yup!" I heard El say. I smiled, and we both took our seats. I knew Fury was going to bore us with rules and privileges. I also knew he would drag on about it. So I pulled out my phone and started playing Flappy Bird. I made sure to keep it hidden under the table. I hoped nobody noticed my expressions changing depending on how good or bad I was doing.

"Right, you two, these are the Avengers." I heard Fury say. I felt a rush of excitement.

"Whoa! Um hi! This is cool!" I could feel the excitement bursting through my chest. The Avengers? Seriously!? This is literally the Best Day Ever! I told myself. They smiled at Eleanor and I, which of course made my day THAT much better.

"Wow! I've never seen eyes like that before!" I heard Stark say. I felt a rush of anger at him. Some people teased Eleanor about her eyes, which never ended well when I was around. Everyone turned to El, she was blushing like mad. If this started going in the wrong direction, Stark would pay for this, I promised to myself.

"Umm... Was that a compliment?" Eleanor asked.

"Oh yeah. Yeah it was. That's really cool!" They all nodded. It took me a little bit to calm myself down. Heat just seemed to be coming off of me. Maybe it was because I was nervous? I guess they don't call me Heatwave for nothing.

"Agents, these girls are here for a reason. Permafrost do you want to go first?" She nodded. I looked at El and gave her a smile. I let out a quiet sigh of relief, I didn't want to go first, but I also didn't want to go at all. I couldn't control my powers very well. Sometimes something happened other times nothing did. Eleanor took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Everyone's face changed when she opened her eyes again, because they were glowing. I saw her smile slightly. It was kind of new for me to see her use her powers. It started snowing, nice fluffy while snowflakes fell from nowhere. I looked back under the table and turned my phone off. I heard a few 'Whoas' and 'Wows' I must of missed something good. Everyone was starting at El, she was pretty amazing. I suddenly remembered that soon it would be my turn. I hoped they would ask Eleanor to do more. All their heads turned to me. I gulped, and walked over to the pile of snow. As soon as the freezing cold snow touched me it melted. I heard El say "Ouch" quietly, and I mouthed "Sorry" in response.
