InuKag Family Week Day 5: Free

Summery: Post yashahime, Inuyasha and Kagome go after Koga and Jyubi respectively and get their daughters freedom back. A continuation of last chapter.

A week after reuniting, the Hanyou and his Miko wife decided it was the right time to confront Koga and Jyubi as Moroha was out of the house today visiting the grave of her former mentor.
" I knew sending her to Koga was a bad idea!" Inuyasha raged as he paced their hut.

" We couldn't have known he would give her up to someone else." Kagome tried to soothe her husband.

" But why would he give her up?! We told him that he was supposed to take care of her while we were gone." Inuyasha argued.

" That will be what I will ask him when I go confront him, you just focus on that Jyubi." Kagome kissed his cheek.

" You're not coming with me?" He tilted his head like dogs do when they are confused.

" I have to bring these herbs to Rin for Setsuna and then I'll go confront Koga." She replied. Seeing his confused expression she continued" Setsuna's still asleep, unfortunately Rin told me she's been having fits in her sleep and these herbs will help her sleep better."

" No need Lady Kagome, I have been summoned to retrieve those herbs from you." Jaken in all his stupid glory said as he walked in like he owned the place.

" Well I guess that answers that." Inuyasha replied.

" I still think I need to confront Koga and Ayame while you confront Jyubi. I don't trust myself not to shoot Jyubi through the heart with an arrow." Kagome said.
The couple left their hut and parted in different directions. It was time to get answers.

Ayame, Queen of the Wolves and her handmaidens were outside the den having a quiet picnic when one of her handmaidens saw Kagome. " My lady, look!" A maid pointed out.

" Kagome, what a surprise!" Ayame exclaimed.

" Ayame, where's Koga?" Kagome asked angrily.

" He's just inside the den, why?" Ayame was confused. Why would Kagome be looking for Koga?

" Why did you both give up Moroha?!" Kagome raged. This just confused the female wolf more.

" But Moroha left on her own...." Ayame trailed off.

" Not according to Moroha. Moroha says that Koga gave her to his old mentor who by the way had a gambling problem and just so happened to sell my daughter to a bounty dealer!" Kagome was more than furious. Just remembering what her poor sweet daughter went through while she and her husband were away made her so angry. Ayame gasped. Koga never told her this! He told her Moroha didn't want to live with them anymore.

" I assure you Kagome, I had no idea. Koga told me that Moroha didn't want to live with us in the den anymore. While you and Inuyasha were gone, I loved that cub as if she were my own. Please believe me if I knew then I would have taken her back to the den after she left and I would have opposed Koga's decision. I was devastated when she left." Ayame begged Kagome as she could see the protective mother's furious eyes.

" I believe you, now tell Koga to get out here." Kagome's face softened.

" You wanted to see me Aya- KAGOME!" Koga exclaimed upon seeing his former crush. Then he gulped upon realizing Kagome was furious.

Meanwhile with Inuyasha, who was currently threatening Jyubi with Tenssgia.....

" Now you're gonna let my daughter go. She's not ever gonna work for you again." Inuyasha growled.

" Yes, of course Lord Inuyasha." Jyubi trembled.

" Good, and if I hear you and your little raccoon conning anyone else of fair pay...." Inuyasha threatened.

" I understand! I understand!"

Inuyasha didn't want to hear anymore from this idiot. So in typical Inuyasha fashion, he stormed out, leaving behind a terrified Jyubi.

Later that night after the couple tucked their daughter in to bed, they sat down and discussed what happened earlier.

" Moroha is free, she won't have to work for that conman anymore. That guy is more of a conman than Miroku!" Inuyasha said.

" Ayame said she never knew that Moroha was given to Koga's old mentor. She was told by Koga that Moroha didn't want to live with them anymore. As for Koga, his excuse was that Moroha is mostly human and it was therefore deemed too dangerous for her to live there. I knew he was only telling half the truth. I had a feeling his real answer would upset Ayame so once I convinced her to leaves us alone he told me the truth. I was right, the truth would destroy her." Kagome explained.

" What did that flea bag say?!" Inuyasha growled. Like most inu youkai, Inuyasha knew the importance of mates. So hearing that Koga may have hurt not only HIS wife but Ayame too made him angry.

" He said that looking at Moroha reminded him of what he could never have..... me." Kagome said.

" THAT BASTARD, He doesn't deserve that woman." Inuyasha exclaimed.

" I agree and after today I don't think I want to remain friends with him anymore. We trusted him and he broke that trust." Kagome sighed.

" I'll go along with whatever you decide." Inuyasha replied.

The couple went to bed that night exhausted and upset that someone they had ( in InuYasha's case, reluctantly) trusted, had given up their daughter just because she reminded him of her mother.

Moroha slept peacefully unaware of her parent turmoil.
