"Lol," Said the strange magician, "Lmao."
"What?" Shrek gave him a puzzled look.
"These are the Faces of Evil," The magician gestured to something below them. Were they on a flying carpet?
Yes, it would seem that was the case.
"I don't see anything," Shrek said.
"You will one day, my friend," The magician nodded and folded his arms. "One day..."
Shrek grunted in response.
"Now," The magician said as he stood up, "I must be off." And he stepped off the carpet and fell into the clouds.
"Wait!" Shrek looked over the edge, looking for signs of the magician. "What are you doing? Are you alright?"
"Lmaooooo!" He heard the magician's voice call out from beneath the clouds.
------
Shrek woke up with a start. What a strange dream that was.
He looked around the room, and put his hand on his forehead, a splitting headache growing. It must've been really late. Moonlight shone through the window, and the house was completely quiet.
With a sigh, he looked down at Fiona, saying, "Good morning..."
Fiona wasn't there. Was she already up?
Shrek got out of bed massaging his sinus with his fingers. He headed out toward the living room. Looking around, he didn't spot Fiona anywhere.
"Hello, Shrek." Shrek heard a voice. He spun to see a pale, oddly dressed figure in his alligator-skin chair.
"Who are you?" Shrek glared at him. "What are you doing in my swamp?"
"My name is Orochimaru," The man stood up. "And I have a proposition for you."
"I didn't say you could come in here," Shrek growled.
"I bet you're wondering where Fiona is, hm?" A sickening grin spread across Orochimaru's face.
Shrek narrowed his eyes. "Where is she?" He clenched his fist.
"Fiona is dead." Orochimaru plainly said. "And your kids are in my captivity, I'll add."
"What?" Fear quickly spread across Shrek's face.
"Do I need to repeat myself?"
Shrek fell to his knees, making the floor shake slightly. "No..." He said in shock.
"Here's my proposition," Orochimaru stood and strode over to Shrek. "If you want your children back, you do what I request of you."
"What do you mean?" Said Shrek.
"I need you to retrieve several things for me," Orochimaru held out his hand, and a small roll of paper was conjured from flames in it. "They're all written on this paper." He turned his hand and let the paper fall to the floor in front of Shrek.
"You have one week," Orochimaru finally said before simply disappearing.
Shrek was left alone in the quiet darkness. For a moment he was silent, but he eventually got up shakily. He stood for a minute, his headache growing. Suddenly, he fell back to the ground, unconscious.
------
Shrek was in a dark room. His headache had disappeared. He looked around. There was no one else here.
"Hello?" Shrek called out. His voice echoes around the vast darkness. "Hello!"
There was no answer.
