Jack was waiting in line to ask for the drink he usually bought at the bar. In line, he saw someone in front of him who he immediately recognized.
"Excuse me," he said, grabbing the young man's attention. "Who are you?"
"Osaid," replied the young man. "And you?" Jack couldn't believe it. He had found his long lost high school classmate after five years at a bar in Paterson.
"Its Jack." He replied. Osaid smiled.
"How have you been?" He asked.
"Been doing good," remarked Jack. He then stopped to look up from his phone and turned to face Osaid completely. "Its crazy. We haven't seen each other for five years until now."
"I know," said Osaid quietly.
"Where have you been?" asked Jack as he took off his glasses to clean them.
"At my dad flower shop," replied Osaid. "I own it now."
"You do?" asked Jack. "Thats crazy" He then looked around to see if anyone else he recognized was here. "How your family doing?" he asked facing back to Osaid.
"They're good." said Osaid.
"Do you still go to school?" asked Jack. Osaid looked down in a feeling guilty."No," he said. "Not since I went to high school."
"Oh snap," commented Jack as the line started to get shorter. "So you're working instead?"
"Yes." said Osaid. "I moved to Paterson after I graduated."
"Why?" asked Jack. "Why don't you live in Teaneck anymore?"
"I still work there," Osaid said "I just moved."
"Why?" asked Jack.
"Because we needed more room." Osaid answered.
"Thats crazy," commented Jack. "I got my own apartment now and I have a job."
"Where?" asked Osaid.
"In Paramus."
The line then got smaller as the two men started to chat even more."I'm registering for classes at the University of Toronto," explained Osaid. "They don't require SAT scores."
"What was wrong with going to Bergen Community College?" questioned Jack. He then remembered when he took the entrance test for the college, and realized it would have been hard for Osaid to have taken it; He always needed help from him."Oh, I see. The Accuplacer." He ended up saying.
"Yes," replied Osaid. "They were hard to do so I decided not to go to college after high school, and go to work instead."
"How come you deciding to go now?" asked Jack.
"Because my parents want me to go to school.""Why out of the country?" asked Jack.
"I told you already, they don't require SAT test." remarked Osaid, in an annoyed matter.
"I'm sorry Osaid," said Jack as he realized Osaid was in line. He touched his shoulder, and pointed him in the direction where the bartender was.
