I got the idea for this by watching the bloopers and reading a parody of the game. Its really funny, but I can't remember what it's called. It's on devaintart somewhere, so yeah. Good luck finding it.
Everything was nice and peaceful in Artz' mind, where she was dreaming.
She dreamt that she was playing Jak and Daxter, and she was collecting power cells, as usual. Battling the precursor robot, blowing the dark eco crystals up, chasing the flying lurkers. It all seemed so real, peaceful, even calming. Daxter was making jokes, Samos was shooting him down, Kiera was making her things. Until she was shaken awake, she was calm and collected. Artz opened her eyes to see Jak, standing there with a grin on his face. She blinked, a judging to the light. Her internal clock told her that it was eleven o clock, and she quickly knew what would happen. Wow, I get to see first hand Daxter before and after, Gol and Maia in person, and I get to see dark eco... she was excited, but kept her act up, and followed Jak and Daxter to the speedboat.
Artz laid down on the wood of the boat, relaxing and thinking. What am I going to do now? Wait. I can change minor details, so does that mean- her thoughts were cut off by a loud splash, which was Daxter, falling into the water. He spat the water out, and grinned lightly at Jak. They helped him back into the boat, falling backwards. Daxter made a face, and they both burst out laughing, until they reached the iconic Misty Island.
The boat collided with the shallow water. The trio jumped out, keeping relatively quiet and stepping quickly. "Hey! Uh, guys? Ol' green stuff told us not to come here!" Daxter tried to catch up to them, and tripped. Jak and Artz shook their heads, helped him up, and continued. They walked along the hard grey ground, passing torches, mist, boulders, small cliffs, and the mysterious bones. They were even bigger in person, and it made her think; what are they? The precursor structure was getting bigger with each step, and she grew more anxious and excited with each one. The structure was basic, ugly in a way, but super interesting in Artz' eyes. She wanted to take out her devices and take so many pictures, including several prank selfies to send to her family. But then she remembered that she had to keep her act up, so she decided to sneak here when the world was saved, and take them then.
Jak crouched behind a large boulder, and Artz did the same, knowing what was going to happen. Daxter fell, but they both shushed him and they watched the scene below.
Several lurkers, some bone lurkers, some normal, but they were organized in a way that made you know that they were waiting for something. Two small clouds of purple proofed in front of the precursor door, and Artz immediately went into fangirl mode. Internally. She loved this game so much, and had always wanted this to happen. Gol and Maia were her second favourite characters, tied perfectly. Torn was the number one best character in her eyes, but meeting your favourite antagonists was both scary and cool. The first thing that she noticed was that Gol looked a lot shorter than Maia. The second thing was that all of her brain cells had imploded on each other. She mentally yelled at herself, but stayed calm.
"Continue your search for artifacts and eco," Gol gasped, almost pulling the words out of his very soul. "If the locals have any artifacts or eco, you know what to do." Maia took over from there, and the lurkers almost flinched. "Deal harshly with anyone who strays from the village. We will attack it, in due time." Until now, Artz thought that Maia just spoke a little differently. Now, she realized her voice had a British accent. She silently laughed, but followed Jak and Daxter as they made their way to the iconic dark eco pool.
The substance was even cooler in person, and gave off a scent that smelled like metal mixed with cream soda. It's aura felt soothing, and she was almost drawn to it. It's surface shimmered, and it looked amazing. The colours were amazing, and it looked like it had a little bit of navy blue mixed into the purple and black. It made a sound, much like the one in the game and Artz immediately felt relaxed and calm. Still, this was an important plot device, and very dangerous to anyone who didn't know what to do with it. It could do anything to anyone, wether give them cool powers, make them crazy, or change them into an otsel/precursor. "What are we doing here anyways, guys? This place gives me the creeps!" Daxter called out, before tripping on the precursor bomb.
Artz pulled out a blank notebook and started jotting some notes down. Dark eco smells like metal and cream soda. It's cool. It makes me feel relaxed. I'm considering jumping into it right now, but I won't. Daxter just tripped on the bomb. Will update later and in more detail. She stuffed it back into her bag, and looked at the dark eco again. "Now, I like orbs and power cells as much as the next guy, but if you ask ME, they must've been real losers..." Daxter said as Jak studied the now glowing bomb in his hands. She also went to look at it, and remembered what was about to happen. "Woah, how did you do that?" Daxter asked, and Jak shrugged. The bone lurker decided to show its blue face now, and roared as it jumped down. Artz and human Daxter (though not for long, hehehe) hid behind Jak, but she only did it because she wasn't much of a fighter.
Jak threw the bomb at it, and it exploded, sending him back. What she didn't expect, however, was that she got thrown into the eco as well.
Once again, a short-ish chapter. Also, I love me some cliff hangers, so here ya go! (Yeetus chapter)
Cam out!
