Rory exhaled holding the little fragile baby in her arms as she felt shortly how tears were coming through.
Shaking her head she let out a soft chuckle as she held her child's hand in hers.
Kissing his head she saw as her mother and Luke came in smiling.

"Oh my gosh," Lorelai said.

"Mom, Luke come in. Come it's okay. He won't cry," Rory said as both came in.

"He kinda looks like..."

"Jess. He looks like Jess," Luke finished Lorelai's sentence.

"Yeah he does. Mom, Luke say hello to Oliver Lucas," Rory said as she looked at her son.

"Oliver say hello to your grandma Lorelai and great-uncle Luke. Wanna hold him, Mom?" Rory asked.

"I would love to," Lorelai said as Rory handed her mother the newborn baby.

"Oh my goodness. Aren't you precious. Yeah you are. Who are godparents?" Lorelai asked.

"Lane. He doesn't have a godfather yet," Rory said as Luke looked at the baby.

"You did a great job. I'm so sorry Jess isn't here. As soon as you are well enough to start driving we'll let you go," Luke said as Rory nodded.

"I know," Rory said smiling at her son.

6 weeks later

Rory smiles as she was busy lightly rocking her child in her childhood bedroom while she could hear the television going in the background.
Closing the door she placed Oliver back in his crib as she went out of the room seeing her mother watching something on television.

"Is Ollie asleep?" Lorelai asked as Rory nodded.

Ollie, the cute little nickname that was given to her 6 week baby boy, was definitely a unique one.
Many people couldn't even believe when Rory had told them that Oliver is the name of her child.
Due to the bonding she and Jess did over Oliver Twist as well as the name Dodger that Rory once called Jess it seemed like the right thing to do to give her first born son that name.
Trying again on the phone Rory exhaled as she saw all of the things around her packed while she was ready to take on the journey.

"This is insane. I'm driving around the country looking for my son's father. Hopefully I'll find him in New York," Rory said as Lorelai looked at her daughter.

"Do you want to do that? It's not like he has to know and..."

"Mom, Jess has to know about his son. We've talked about this. I'm going to put the things in the car and then I'm going to start my search for Jess. I need to do this," Rory said as she got up.

"Fine. I'll help you to load all the stuff," Lorelai said as they started to pack the car.

What had seemed like not too many things quickly did change to a lot after Rory gave birth.
Not being able to go anywhere with a lot of the things for Oliver made it difficult for her to go anywhere.
But limiting all of her stuff has been one thing she has accomplished very well.
Even if she did need some help with it in the beginning.

"Rory," Luke said as Rory turned around seeing how Luke brought a container full of food.

"For the road. It's meatballs and boiled eggs. All very safe. Some coffee as well," Luke said as Rory smiled.

"I'm going to New York guys. Not California. But thank you. Okay let me buckle Ollie in," Rory said as she went inside seeing as her son was awake looking at the ceiling.

"Why aren't you napping, huh?" Rory asked picking him up gently giving him kisses.

"Do you know where we're going?" Rory asked as she got Oliver into his car seat as Luke watched over her.
