"All that you have made gives thanks to you, Lord; all your faithful ones bless you!" Psalm 145, 10
"...and so the story of two people who fell in love under impossible circumstances ends."
I closed the book as I let a big breath escape my mouth and relaxed against the couch. It was very late in the evening and my best friend Michael should be here at any second. We planned to go on a journey to Italy. I was already excited when I first heard of his idea of doing this 5 months ago. And now this day finally arrived. I wasn't sure if I could even sleep this night, but I knew I at least had to try. I would need all the strength I could get because of the things we would do on the following day. Not only getting on a plane and then drive a car but also swimming, hiking, shopping (of course that was my idea) and lots of other things we could do in Italy and on our way to this exciting and beautiful country.
We live in London and I've never been to Germany or one of those german speaking countrys before. Although my parents are both german, we've never visited anyone there. So, I can speak german but with whom will you talk if there's nobody who can understand you but your parents and your two brothers?! However, my best friend Michael was able to convince my parents to let us go on a journey to Italy. That wasn't easy but Mickey (that's how I call him) somehow always was successful when it comes to things like that. He always found a tricky way to convince me of something when I wanted to resist his opinion or plan. He really is a genius!
So, to tell you a bit of my family. As I said, I have two older brothers who are called David and Samuel and although I don't want to admit that, they're both handsome in different ways. Samy (how we call him) is more the beach boy with blond hair and blue eyes like the sea. But david is the stronger and older one. He has broad shoulders, is clever and has green eyes combined with dark blond hair. We always got along very well with each other but you know how sometimes brothers and sisters can treat each other. If there is one thing we all have in common, it's our stubbornness. We are christian, seventh-day-adventist if you'd like to know, so our arguments are limited but everybody has their own faults and weaknesses and who knows them better than your own family?
My parents are lovely ones. They are both already older than fifty years old and my mom still works as a nurse and my dad as a missionary but in a different way as you have maybe expected. He goes from house to house and sells books about health and god.
My parents first met on a youth congress in Germany but it wasn't love at first sight. I guess we, as their children have our stubbornness from our mom. My father had to fight for her in the old fashioned way. I especially like the part when my dad asked her to marry him and she tried to find different reasons not to marry him and he just kissed her in front of all those young people. Of course she said yes after that kiss. They still look as in love as in the past but sometimes even they could scream at each other during an argument. But with gods help they always forgive each other and try again.
To tell you something about me. I love to read. I just finished a book where two people fell in love with each other in a helpless situation and they both died in the end. Sad but I somehow like storys like that. But what I prefer doing is swimming and playing volleyball. Every time I go swimming, I feel like I'm entering a different world and there are no worries anymore in my life. It clears everything that's going on in my head. It's almost the only place where you can get one with your surrounding.
I'm nineteen years old and I've never had a boyfriend yet. Unbelievable right? But I have to admit that in my past I wanted to concentrate myself on other things than on a relationship, so it wasn't that hard for me to not have a boyfriend. I could have had some boys but I was just not interested in more than being friends.
