Part two

Exiting the little room, I locked it back again as I stepped into the hallway, my head held high. I wasn't too familiar with the castle itself but after I had reached to the potion classroom, I saw three Hufflepuff students ahead of me and simply followed along with them to the great hall.

Since the classes hadn't officially begun yet, there weren't many students in the castle itself. All of the professors however, were seated at the high table at the far end of the hall. Most of the wooden seats were left sacked at the top of the tables and only a few students actually occupied some.

Walking through long wooden benches, that were spread along the entire length of the hall, I tried my best to seem unbothered by the scavenging looks that were soon followed by astonished gasps and hushed whispers as I reached the steps that lead to the teacher's table.

"Ah, Miss Vandestine!" Dumbledore exclaimed in a pleasing tone as he raised his wine goblet towards me. I suddenly became very conscious as everybody's eyes settled onto me as they stopped mid conversation. I could feel that they were slightly skeptical of me as they ransacked my frame with curious prying eyes.

I inhaled sharply as I nodded my head towards a now beaming Dumbledore who also held a knowing glint in his wrinkled eyes. My heart sank again at the thoughts of possible introduction I might have to present the other professors with.

I wouldn't be surprised if they refused to associate themselves with me considering they'd most definitely know about my death eater past. I mean, who didn't? Even those who were oblivious to the whole ordeal wouldn't have missed that scurrilously gruesome article, by that flibbertigibbet, Rita Skeeter, about me that she had the curtsy of printing on the very first page of The Daily Prophet.

With fresh release of Adhya Vandestine, here's to all the times the young witch was caught up in compromising situations.

Ps: scandalous!

Words couldn't describe how badly I wanted my hands around her throat. Admittingly, I never felt tranquilized after I had just used the killing curse on innocent muggles or wizards alike, that I was forced to butcher like the rest of the beta death eaters, however if I could do it all again, she seemed just like the person I'd go for.

"Come please, have a seat." He said casually as he returned back to his conversation with an old woman with a tight bun at the top of her head and features that resembled those of a feline's who eyed me with part curiosity and part aloofness.

I gazed around the table, quickly assessing every person occupying a spot. Some portion of the dwellers were far too engrossed in their own conversations to actually pay heed to me while some were openly gawking at me, probably astonished to see a murderer inside the castle they'd call home. Being associated with the dark lord had its own nooks and perks as I now viewed most of the people as somewhat of a threat and I didn't know if it were for the better or the worse.

"I am professor Minerva, dear-" the lady sitting next to the headmaster began as she stood up from her seat, however was cut short by the old wizard himself.

"Minerva perhaps we should hold back the introductions for now, hm?"

I felt adrenalin physically kick inside my body as my palms became sweatier and my armpits dampened as well.

Perhaps I really should've showered.

Nodding at him, Minerva quickly sat back down but offered me a kind smile nonetheless.
