Flint's Point of View
8am, i came to school with a very severe headache, normally i wouldve taken the day off, but the finals are near so i need to go to school whenever needed. I think i can still hold on for a little while.
I take out the advil from my bag and drink it without water and rub my temples once again to relieve the pain.
My eyes were closed when i feel a hand grab my shoulder. I turned my head to look at who it is and see that it was Jay, my best friend who takes classes at the other building as an art student.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked as he draped his arm over my shoulder.
"Yeah, ill be fine. I drank pain killers so i can still get through class just fine-"
"No not that, i mean are you okay? You know, about what happened yesterday?" He cut me off. I immediately furrowed my eyebrows. Yesterday? Hmm, oddly enough i dont remember a thing.
"Yesterday? Why, what happened yesterday?" I asked him but he slowly removed his arm around me.
"I see, i guess you still dont want to talk about it huh," he pat me on the shoulder before slowly walking away, "Dont worry, if you need someone to listen to it, im all ears Flint. See you later at dismissal okay?"
Confused, i just watched him walk away towards his building. After a few seconds i continued walking to my classroom still wondering about what he means.
I sat down on my desk and read notes to distract myself from the pain. The advil is barely working to numb the pain and it continued on like that for the whole day. It was weird that the whole class was staring at me weirdly as if i committed a crime but i couldn't care less because i was more focused on passing this class so that i can graduate.
Dismissal time came fast and i immediately packed my bag to go home. Even throughout the way, i cant help but still wonder about what Jay said. What happened yesterday and why dont i remember it?
I pondered about that thought for quite some time before i noticed i went the wrong way to my house. I looked around and realized this is a completely wrong street.
How strange, it feels familiar to me. But all of the things in this street are only unoccupied houses and the street leading into the forest.
I just went back my way to finally go home and when i got home, my mother greeted me with a smile from the kitchen. She immediately wipes her hands to come and hug me and i return the hug along with a kiss on the cheek.
"Welcome home Flint. You're on great timing, i just finished cooking dinner." she says. I roamed my eyes around and don't see a trace of my father.
"Where's Dad?"
"Oh, he said he's gonna be on overtime today so we could start dinner without him." Mom answered while preparing to get our plates.
I dropped my bad on the chair for a moment, "I'll prepare the table, you can just go first in the table Mom."
After helping her, she told me to get changed so i went up to my room to get dressed and went down quickly.
Mom just got finished preparing so we just sat down and ate our meal while listening to the news in the television.
[Just last night, people were delighted to see the meteor shower in full view without any clouds in the night sky. But people were more excited to see the biggest comet in the shower that is named to be Comet Eunaclus and its pretty safe to say that the comet did not disappoint those who were waiting for it.]
My Mom looked at the tv to see what it was about so i looked at it too.
"Hmm, too bad i didn't see it. Flint, you stayed out last night right? Did you see it?" Mom asked and i looked at her confused.
