When my mother died our entire pack was devastated, the fact that one of our Alphas had died meant two things: the remaining Alpha would soon follow and then the pack. My father mourned my mother and always told me how much she missed and loved her, like he was trying to assure me. I didn't know then but it all made sense when she came into the picture. My father wanted to start a new family, an idea I wasn't fond of, especially when it meant that my father was betraying his true mate, my mother, with another woman. It had only been two years since her death and he decided it was time to move on... with Claudia.

Claudia was also a widow, her mate had fallen ill and passed away only a year before marrying my father. She was in a few words beautiful, he obsidian black hair and pale blue eyes contrasted with her fair skin made her somewhat ethereal, when I first met her I thought she was a fairy or a nymph of some kind. She began to come around the packhouse more often bringing me gifts and reading to me, I accept her.

It wasn't until she mentioned she had a daughter and son that I understood what she was trying to do, win me over, I hated the thought of sharing Claudia's attention. She had become like a second mother to me and the twins were gonna take her away from me, or so I thought.

Natasha, Nathan and I became inseparable we did everything together: we ate, slept and played. As the years went on they became the best part of my life, they became my family. I would do anything for them, even put my life on the line of it came to it, but those feelings changed all of a sudden, the moment she came into my life.

Arabella. My Arabella.

When I look into her eyes it's like the whole world stops and it's prefect. Then there's Tasha my little sister that's what I saw every time I looked into her pale blue eyes, that bubbly five year old who loved making mud pies and eating them. Now all I can think of is all the horrible things she must've done to Arabella and the fact that she's somehow responsible for how traumatized she is now. And that just made my blood boil.

"Let's see where do I start," Nathan paced the living room. "I think I'll start with fist semester," he sat down on the leather armchair. Natasha flinched at the mention.

"Nate, please." She choked out.

"First semester," he repeated, "we had plant ecology third period, with that one weird teacher Mr. Soldano, he was telling everyone to split into groups of 2 or 3 and our little kitten was outcasted, no one wanted to work with her, Tasha and her friends convinced everyone to exclude her and the teachers didn't do a thing.

"See it was little acts like this that started it all, it made your little friends feel like they could do anything they wanted to anyone they wanted," he looked at her sternly, "you told me you ended it, but I never put much thought into your words, it was that day, right, you seemed awfully happy like you had done something good, accomplished something that pleased you

Tasha whipped at her face furiously, I hadn't notice she was crying.

"That's the day we sent out a search party for the Beta's daughter, you were quick to join I assume you planned on finding her first, finishing the job."

"Shut up! Shut up, Nate!" Tasha screamed and lunged at Nate, he caught her by the arms and shouted back.

"You tired to kill her! You tried to cover it up by killing an innocent person, all because your friends went too far and you just stood there and watched. How could you just stand there?"

Tasha's body was shaking I thought she might have been crying some more but she was actually laughing.

"It was just so easy," she breathed out, "she was so weak, she never said anything or even tried to fight. I even gave her a few chances to hit me back, but she wouldn't." She seethed. "And that made me so mad, how could the Beta's daughter be such a weakling, how could someone with that much authority in her pocket be so fucking dumb and weak.

"So maybe I did incite a few stupid girls to bully and harass her but I was hoping she'd just off herself and that would be the end of that, but she was so stubborn." Tasha looked up at Arabella. "She just didn't want to die." She looked to me. "I was doing this pack a favor, they say a pack is only as strong as their weakest link, and she was so weak!" She lunged herself at Arabella but I caught her before she could lay a claw on her.

"Don't you dare." I warned her.

"Griffin," she whispered my name tears in her eyes, "I was doing this for us, for the pack. While you were away I was taking responsibility for the pack, it was me, not Nate he was too busy fucking around," she looked back at him with hate, "but not me I was protecting our pack making sure it would be ready for your return, everything I did was for you, for us."

"You keep saying that but I never asked you to do anything for me or the pack, Tasha." I clenched her wrists to the point they were about to snap. "You can't go around killing people just for your own benefit."

"Don't you get it," she cried, "I did it for you! Because I love you, but you never loved me!" She screamed so loud a couple of pack members showed up to hear the commotion. "And then you showed you" she growled at Arabella, "and ruined any chance I had at becoming the next female Alpha."

Arabella had Kaden wrapped around her for protection, but she had this wide eyed look that mirrored mine.

"What the hell are you talking about, Natasha!" Nate beat me to the question. "Are you insane? Griffin is practically our brother, since when have you been harboring these feelings."

She looked at me with such sad eyes I almost felt sorry for her.

"Since the day we met," she relaxed, "I prayed every day that you never found your mate, and when you left I prayed every second that you wouldn't run into them," she began to growl again, "and the moment you come home they suddenly appeared out of nowhere! It's not fair! It should've been me!"

This was getting out of hand, Tasha had become delusional, crazy even. She needed help.

"What is going on here?" Asked a familiar and soothing voice. "Griffin, sweetheart."

I turned around towards the front entrance.

"Mom?"
