"Another round of wolves blood!" I slammed my glass onto the table and shouted at the top of my lungs, the liquor a present burn in my throat.
The crowd at the Spoon gave a loud roar that shook the poor shack, dusting the frame. It was well past midnight and all the humans had gone home, leaving us weres to continue the party.
Well at least I was trying to, Pete was off somewhere trying to get one of the waitress's number, Jae was in the corner playing pool with some neighboring pack members, and Kaden was sitting at the table staring at me expectantly. His green eyes so much like Arabella's, except his didn't make my heart beat funny nor did he arise any desires in me like she did.
"You're thinking of my sister, aren't you?" He smiled, it wasn't a good smile.
"No," came my smart response.
"You're a bad liar when you're drunk," he scoffed, "and an even worse one when you're sober."
"W-what are you-"
"One round of wolves blood, for the Alpha!" The waitress from earlier announced loudly making my head hurt. "There you go, cutie," she warped her bony hand over my shoulder making me flinch, "let me know if you need anything, anything at all."
I shuddered.
"Damn," Kaden cursed, "she's laying it on pretty thick, Fin."
"Yeah," I hiccuped, "like her makeup."
This caused Kaden to throw his head back in a fit of laughter, he always did say I was funnier when I was drunk. I smirked and reached for another shot glass.
"Let's toast," Kaden said wiping the tears from his eyes and picking up a glass as well.
"To what?" I asked.
"To... us." He suggested.
I shrugged my shoulders and took my shot without any other thought.
"And my sister." Kaden quickly added making me choke on the liquor sending me into a coughing frenzy. He patted my back while saying, "that was too easy, Griffin."
I shoved him pissed off and stumbled to the center of the pub, everyone's eyes on me the next thing I knew I was falling backwards, Kaden reaching out for me but as soon as I felt the cold, hardwood floor I was out like a light.
I had woken up several minutes later to that sweet scent, peaches and cream. Her scent was everywhere, that could only mean one thing, Kaden had brought me back to the Lockhart's home. Everything was blurry and moving so slow, but I could feel her as if I could almost touch her.
"Don't, Bells." He warned her. "I got it."
So close yet so far.
Kaden helped me up the stairs, Arabella following close behind my whole body aching to touch her. I could hear her little heart beat and I reached out for her when she was close enough, but Kaden swung me around so I fell against his bed and I couldn't move from there, sleep consumed me.
But her heart beat was impossible to drown out, so much so that I walked right into her room and snuck into her bed.
She was starting to doze off, I could tell because her heartbeat was less erratic. I slowly walked to her bed, picked up her discarded comforter and wrapped it around her. My arms wound around her slender waist, the comforter creating a barrier so there would be no physical contact. She stiffened and I snuggle against the crook of her neck, breathing her in just before tucking her under my chin.
Fvck. She was perfect.
"I couldn't sleep," my voice was deep and gruff with sleep, "I could hear your heart beat."
She remained quiet.
"It's okay, you don't have to say anything," I took in her scent once more, "We can just sleep." I mumbled and pulled her in closer to my chest, before finally going to sleep.

The scent of peaches and cream I had gotten so comfortable with engulfed my senses. The comforter that had come between us was now somewhere on the floor and Arabella was sleeping quietly and comfortably next me. Her golden brown hair splayed out against the pillow, some of it was covering her faces, so I gently brushed it out the way with my thumb. She stirred and moaned. Her little eyes fluttering open, first slowly and then rapidly as she starred at me.
They shifted in color as they do when we mind-link. She sat up and wrapped the blanket around herself and scooted away from me.
"Hey," I tried saying playfully but I was a bit hurt by her actions.
Suddenly the door opened and Kaden marched into the bedroom. He looked at me once, no emotion in his eyes, and then looked at Arabella, love and affection oozing from his eyes then. I rolled mine, he was always overprotective and overbearing when it came to his sister, I didn't blame him I was the same with mine.
"Are you okay?" He asked her as he sat on the bed, she scooted closer further away from me, again! I was starting to get annoyed.
"I didn't hurt her, Kaden." I grumbled out, she shivered at the sound of my morning voice. She looked at me sideways and then looked away. "Will you tell your brother you're okay, Arabella."
Kaden looked at me and sighed.
"She-"
He stopped mid-sentence receiving another mind-linked message, this was really starting to get on my nerves.
"Well he's going to find out one way or another." Kaden said annoyed. What were they talking about?
"Yes," he chuckled, "I am speaking out loud so he can hear." They're conversation continued as if I wasn't sitting right there.
Kaden looked at me and sighed.
"Fin, my sister, Arabella, well she—" before he could even finish his sentence the door opened with a high pitch, slowly drawn creak. We all sat frozen and looked over at the door one by one.
Arabella was the first to look and she quickly hid under the sheets with the tiniest squeak. Kaden straightened right up from the bed. I on the other hand sat exactly where I was, exactly where I should be.
"What the fvck is going on in here!"
