Zoya's POV:
We could hardly get sleep last night. Rubab, Misha and I talked till morning about Rubab's nikkah. I couldn't believe she was married at first. That too with Fahad but maybe it was for the best. After hearing Salman and Zohaib's recent move to kidnap Rubab, Misha and I couldn't really complain about the circumstances. All of us knew how dangerous Zohaib was and Fahad seemed to be the only one at the moment who could take him down. Fahad Abroo was our best bet.
We had seen the way he looked after Rubab. It was true that he had some really terrible qualities but Rubab had mentioned how he might change for her. It was a little hard to believe that but then again this is Fahad we are talking about. He is as unpredictable as it can get. If he can keep Rubab happy, there isn't much to complain about.
Deep down, Misha and I knew that Rubab still liked him after all that he had done for her. She may not show it but after thirteen years of friendship, you can get an idea about a person. We had already decided before Rubab arrived that no matter what she says, we will be supportive and understanding because she has been through quite alot herself.
Plus, the nikkah wasn't done forcibly and both the families were happy. Rubab had also told us how her mother and Fahad's mother were old friends which was reassuring. I hadn't seen Rubab look this calm and happy before so I didn't want to ruin the mood.
Just like that, the three of us slept peacefully. I had to wake up a little early because I had to go to the university today. Misha and Rubab continued to sleep as I got dressed and left.
Kamran hadn't contacted me since that day. I felt like an idiot for checking my phone in anticipation every day. That call was really something. His voice sent tingles down my spine but there was no way, I was ever, like EVER, going to tell him that. Was I crazy for finding his voice attractive? Damn, was I this frustrated?
My phone vibrated and I instantly looked at my phone thinking it was from him. It was a message from Ufone. Uff. Talk about terrible timing. I reversed the car and parked it in an empty spot and stepped out with a briefcase in my hand. I had to submit my assignments today. I had been taking time off university and they sent out a warning. They really don't know how to chill at times. I only missed like a month of classes.
The sun was really strong today. I grabbed an iced tea from the cafeteria and started walking towards the main building. Rafay and Abdullah blocked my way.
"Looks like the sleeping beauty has finally decided to make a reappearance." Abdullah smiled at me as he patted my head. His tall brooding height really put me at a disadvantage at time. He always messed up my hair. Did he treat me like a pet or something? This giant with an incredibly beautiful smile. "We missed you, shorty."
"Where have you been? Your phone was off for the most part." Rafay stood right in front of me and looked down at me intensely. His body was top notch but he didn't really know how to converse without intimidating the other person.
These two were my class fellows and really good friends since first year. Abdullah was a picky womanizer. He reminded me of Fahad at times. Rafay, on the other hand, was a muscled fool with poor communication skills. He appeared so scary to bystanders but he was actually a really considerate and kind person. These two warded off any creeps who tried to come my way, not that I needed it. I could handle them on my own.
"Eh, you know, this and that happened. You know how dramatic my life can be." I waved my hand infront of them. There was no way I could tell them I went to Turkey to avoid my traumatic past.
"You are not getting married, are you?" Rafay seemed wary as he questioned this. Did I mention how chiseled his jawline was? He could cut a bitch in half. He had gotten even better in the past month or so that we have been away.
