It all started with a knock on my door.
The rapping on the door became more and more aggressive as I moved through my kitchen to get to there, it became so insistent, in fact, that I had to yell in its general direction, "Hold on, I'm coming, Jesus." When I opened the door it was definitely not what I had expected. I expected one of my two brothers, the younger complaining about something as usual, or the older being his sternly quiet self. But instead what I saw was much more... interesting.
Standing in front of me was two girls and one boy, one of the girls at the very front, a bit older than me, with blonde hair and blue eyes, who wasn't much different from the other girl, who though, had a bit tanner skin than one would normally have after treatment, but she seemed younger. The boy though, was an interesting sight. His hair was black as a raven, and his eyes were a weird brown-green color, not something I had ever seen before. His looks were so interesting compared to my brown hair and brown eyes, a very boring combination, when his eyes made me want to look at him all day. I shook my head, now I was beginning to look forward to the treatment, it would get rid of love and crushes for good, and my spouse would be picked for me. I was lucky, I wouldn't be turned down.
It took a few moments for me to realize that they were all breathing heavily, and the younger girl, maybe twelve or thirteen, looked up at me with pleading eyes. I decided I had no choice but to usher them in. But before I even had the chance, the boy took a deep breath, got a funny look on his face, and began to say something. He was interrupted by the sound of heavy, leather boots, all marching in uniform time. The young girl shoved her group inside with only a thankful glance my way. Although she was young, she seemed to be in charge, and to have the most control.
