Once More To See You

Maze

At last, the last obstacle to go through to make it to the love of his life.
Mordecai was full of so many emotions.
He was nervous and scared but so happy he was almost to her, before going through the maze he ate some berries from his bag and took in a long deep breath. He started walking through when suddenly he heard someone shouting from the inside, he ran immediately in. He started yelling for the person to keep talking so he could follow their voice.
They did as told, they said they needed help and so he hurried and ran through every direction but with no luck, he asked the person
"Are you injured? If so, who did?"
There was no reply.

It was so quiet that Mordecai could hear the wind whistling, he was petrified.
What if it was a trap? What if the person died?
Whatever it was, he knew he needed to immediately get out.
He felt it in his gut that he was in danger so he kept on running but once again ever turn was a dead end, every turn was just a plain wall.
He stopped for a second to collect his thoughts and try to map out the maze in his mind.
He noticed that the green vines on the walls would stretch out, as if they were pointing to something. He ran around following the vines, and every turn was another passage.

He finally saw the end tunnel but then once again he heard someone scream.
All he needed to do was go help the person but remember the passage back, he quickly turned around and screamed for the person to make noise so he could follow their voice and once again they did not reply.
He was confused, he thought maybe it was just a hoax so he decided to trace his steps back to the end tunnel but when he turned around the roots were at different ends. It was just the walls shifted places, he didn't know his way out.

When Mordecai started walking through he heard footsteps and he turned and asked
"is anyone there?"
but then the footsteps stopped and when Mordecai started walking again, he heard the footsteps keep a pace, it sounded as if someone was running.
He started running because of this, he should've never turned back, this is what he gets for trying to be a nice person.
He found the end tunnel once again and sprinted down it, he took one glance over his shoulder and someone was behind him.
He made it out but he still kept running, he didn't know who or what was following him so he had to just keep going.

The made it further and further and then there it was, the grey stoned brick castle that the wolf man told him about and Mordecai knew Twilight was there.
He could feel it.
At long last he made it.
