A new beginning

Harry's POV  

I sent Lucy off on a plane after a week of recovery in Australia.  

She still didn't know who I was, but she accepted me as someone who was helping her, as she had no one else. 

I was still a stranger to her, and she was completely different, yet utterly the same.  

I hated having to see her like this. To me she was my best friend, my girlfriend and my soul-mate...but to her, I was just that brown haired boy helping to get her home...although she didn't even know England as home. 

The last thing I remember her saying to me was: "where was that beach?"  

I didn't realise what she meant at first,  

it was only when she got onto the plane when I realised. 

"LUCY! WAIT!" I banged on the glass of the waiting room.  

Of course she couldn't here me, but it was worth the try.  

I would have to spend 3 months without her.  

I knew shed be fine...but I didn't think that I would survive without her...

Lucy's POV  

A girl with blonde hair and a subtle fringe welcomed me at the airport.  

"hey Lucy!" she said, opening her arms.  

I assumed she was a friend of mine before the accident. 

"hi...what is your name?" 

She looked taken aback, but not offended. I assumed she remembered about my memory... 

"Annie. Your best female friend before the crash..me and Harry"  

"Harry?" I said, picking up on the hint that the friendly boy in Australia actually knew me, well. 

"yeah babe...he didn't try and make you remember everything between you guys?"  

What!!? What about "us" 

She took my suitcase, thanking the air hostess that had taken me to London. 

"you and Harry.." she continued, as we walked out of the airport.  

"yeah.." I replied timidly, thinking of that dream that I kept having of this beach. 

"you have been bestfriends since you were born. Your mum's are best friends."  

Mum? I didn't remember anything about my mum...but I didn't want to interrupt Annie.  

"you spent ever holiday together. On the beach, and in Brighton"  

Beach?!  

Was it the beach? 

"and you drifted apart..and then one direction happened." she informed me. 

This time I had to interrupt... 

One Direction?  

"what's one direction" 

"the biggest boy band in the world..." 

"Harry?" 

"...is a member!!!" she squealed, fan girling a bit.  

"and you were on tour with them."  

I didn't even remember that bit. I thought I was with Lou...who I had kind of assumed was my sister..or something. I had never questioned anything before. I was always too stressed and tired to ask any questions. 

Annie gasped. 

"what?"  

"damn. You've lost so much weight." she said, strapping me in the safety belt. 

"have I?" I said, assuming that I'd always been this skinny... 

She looked worried as she scanned my body with her investigating eyes.  

"yes. I can see your rib cage through your tshirt." she said, almost crying. 

I hadn't been hungry since the accident. I had no idea what it felt like to be full...or I didn't remember how to eat..

"this is our flat..the one we share together." she said, opening the glossy white door. 

I was expecting something grand for some reason. But no, the door opened up onto a small loungey-space, with a round table in the centre of the room, a sofa against the window, and a kitchen area in the left corner. It had 3 doors that I assume lead off the bedrooms.  

"yours is on the left." she said, guiding me into the flat.  

My room was small, with pale yellow walls, a small single bed with a flowery duvet set on it, and a wooden wardrobe and mirror in the corner.  

It did look rather familiar...however maybe I was just imagining something. They said my brain would be playing tricks on me for a few months.
