When the Weasleys, Addilyn, Harry and Hermione all returned to Hogwarts, things were cold. Not just from the weather, but because of Umbridge. She had somehow made things worse.
On the brighter side of things, Hagrid had come back. He claimed he was off for his mental health, but Addilyn was the only one who really knew where he was. Umbridge had threatened Hagrid's job as gamekeeper.
"Giants?" Harry said.
"You found them?" Hermione asked.
"Well they're not that hard to find to be honest. They're so big." Hagrid said.
As Addilyn listened intently to what the group was talking about, she couldn't help but notice that Hagrid was holding his head against a piece of cold, red, meat.
"Hagrid what did you do to your head?" Addilyn asked.
"Oh nothin' you need to worry about." Hagrid said.
Addilyn nodded slowly but eyed Hagrid slightly.
"Anyway, I tried to convince the giants to join the cause. I wasn't the only one trying to win them over." Hagrid said.
"Death eaters?" Addilyn said.
"Yes. But they didn't fall for it. I gave them Dumbledore's message. Suppose some of them remember he was friendly to them. I suppose." Hagrid said, slightly annoyed.

"How bad do you think this war is going to be?" Addilyn said.
She had been slightly distracted all day. She didn't know why, though. Addilyn was almost always attentive and rarely got distracted from important conversations.
"Well, if Voldemort is coming back stronger than last time, I'd say probably bad. I mean you know what happened last time." Harry said.
When Harry said that, Addilyn noticed Neville's face falter slightly. Addilyn tried to make Neville feel better by nudging him and sending him a smile, but he still looked queasy. Almost everyone in the great hall was talking. And it all seemed to be about the same thing. Everyone was reading the daily prophet. Addilyn had no idea what could be so interesting everyone, including the slytherins, would be talking about it.
"Can I borrow that?" Addilyn asked a random 3rd year.
The 3rd year nodded and Addilyn took the newspaper, untying it and flattening it out.
"We have confirmed that 10 high-security prisoners, in the early hours of yesterday evening did escape. We strongly suspect that the breakout was engineered by a man with personal experience in escaping from Azkaban, notorious mass murderer Sirius Black. Cousin of-" Addilyn said, but stopped talking before things went to far.
"Cousin of who?" Neville managed to stutter out.
Addilyn cleared her throat, gulping slightly before looking to Neville.
"Cousin of escapee, Bellatrix Lestrange." Addilyn said.
Neville looked sick. He was obviously in some sort of shock.
"Neville I'm so sorry. I promise you Sirius Black had nothing to do with this." Addilyn said.
"It's ok Addilyn. I know." Neville said. He quickly got up from the table and started shuffling towards the doors.
Addilyn was one of the few people Neville vented to over the years. She loved that he trusted her, but hated that she couldn't help him as much as she wanted to.
Suddenly, the twins came bursting through the doors.
"There you two are! I thought you guys died or something." Addilyn said.
