Gabriella.
"Get off of her!"
I didn't even have time to digest what I was about to do before actually doing it. Within seconds, I was out of my seat and standing in between the psycho and Zendaya before he could try and do anything else to her. I don't know if it was the alcohol or what, but suddenly I was feeling protective over the girl I just met hours ago.
Zendaya slowly got up from the ground, dusting herself off and pulling her gun out her waistband.
"Sneaking me from behind? Real mature, McCann." She seethed, looking behind me. I turned around and was met with a fuming Jason. His hands were balled into a fist at his side and his jaw clenched tightly. He looked at me and I could've sworn his eyes softened, but as soon as I saw it, it was gone.
"J-Jason?" I gasped. Instantly, everything I've been trying to suppress these last few days came rushing back. All I could think about was which of my loved ones did he hurt. I no longer cared about the situation we were in, I no longer cared that he was seconds away from killing Zendaya, all I cared about was what he did these last few days.
"Shut the hell up! I should kill your stupid ass!" Jason fumed, ignoring me and glaring down at Zendaya. She casually stuck her middle finger up at him, not backing down. It was obvious she didn't give a flying fuck about Jason's attitude.
"Well you're not gonna. Are you?" She asked with a taunting smile. Zendaya grabbed a shot off the bar and downed it within seconds.
Suddenly, Jason stepped around me and stood directly in Zendaya's face. He glared at her while she smiled at him, showing no fear.
"Do you want to test that?" He asked sinisterly. Zendaya leaned back, resting her elbow on the bar and cocked her eyebrow.
"Try me."
With that, Jason cocked his gun and pointed it under Zendaya's chin. Her smug smile never left her face, even as Jason's finger gripped the trigger.
I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't stand there any longer.
"Jason, stop!" I said suddenly. Zendaya's eyebrows shot up in surprise at my outburst. "Just leave her alone, I'm fine. She watched me the whole night, I wouldn't have been able to escape." I said. I closed my eyes and mentally prepared myself for his wrath. For the yelling, the threats and possibly him dragging me away screaming, but nothing came.
I opened my eyes, a little confused. Jason slowly lowered his gun from Zendaya's face and turned around to face me. He didn't look mad or upset anymore. His gaze raked up and down my body before finally settling upon my eyes.
"Let's go." He said.

Sitting in the car, there was no noise except for the low hum coming from Jason's Audi and my occasional huff in annoyance every few minutes. 'Aggravated' wasn't the word. 'Pissed' was more like it.
For the first time in a month, I was able to experience a small taste of freedom and just like that, it was ripped away from me. I don't even think we were there for an hour yet and of course Jason's ass comes and ruins it. If I went the rest of my life without speaking to him, I would die happy.
My mind was still fuzzy from the shots I took, and even though I was angry, I knew I couldn't let that stop me from getting to the bottom of shit.
"What did you do in America?" I asked bluntly, not wasting anytime and not wanting to speak to him more than I needed to. Jason ignored me, reached for the unlit blunt that sat on his dashboard.
