You and your boyfriend William had been together for a little over three years.
You had met him while vacationing near Vegas. It was quite odd how you two met though.
Just remembering that day made you smile.

It was Spring, your sister who lived in Vegas was getting married.
So naturally you were flown out West and some vacation days were cashed in at work.

The trip itself was quite boring and stuffy.
But thank the Gods that you weren't on a plane with any of the colorful characters from other people's plane horror stories.
For the most part you just slept and doodled a bit.

Nothing special, the real memorable parts would happen later on.

You were scheduled to stay at your sister's place, the idea of not many people staying at her four bedroom home was the original plan.
Once you got there it was a whole other scene.
Your future brother-in-law's siblings and kids were staying there as well and let's just say that kids who scream and your ears do not get along at all.

When night fell, you decided to just look for a hotel nearby.
Surprisingly you found a decent one that was about ten minutes away from your sister's home.
You booked a room for the week and got to unpacking.
It was still fairly early, only a quarter past ten when you finished.
And since you were in Vegas, you got to exploring and seeing what'd you get into.
Let's just say it wasn't much.
You were debating on clubbing or just walking around.
Luckily the latter won.
You walked around and saw a diner.
It was one of those retro looking ones; tiled floor, jukebox and vinyl counter.
The whole nine yards.

You entered and sat down at the counter, a preppy waitress taking your simple order.
You couldn't help but look around as you waited for your food.
What really caught your eye besides the neon lights was the man sitting next to you.
He was scribbling on a notepad, annotating what seemed to be a blueprint.
So far, he had filled three sheets out and sketched some other things.
This confused and intrigued you at the same time.

Your food finally came.
You sipped your coffee, still watching the pale man.
He sighed and looked up.
Exasperation on his face.
"Um, are you okay?"
He turned to you and smirked.
"Now that you're here, I am."
You scoffed but felt your face go warm.

Little did you know that that simple question would cause you to be where you were now.

Your phone buzzed.
You glanced down and saw that it was a message from the man who had been at the counter those years back.
He said that he wanted to take you out and that he'd be there soon.
You smiled and got to preparing yourself for what you thought would be just dinner.
Knowing William, you put on some elegant but simple clothes.
He liked to spoil you and whenever he would take you to dinner, it would be at fancy restaurants or at places where the food was freshly made.
