Y/N let a breath of relief out, wiping a concoction of rain and sweat from her forehead. She stood up, turning her flashlight on to examine her surroundings. A dank empty room greeted her. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere. The odd smell that punctured her nose didn't help at all. It reminded her of the archive room back in New York and how bored she was in the days before those.
She got to walking, remembering why she was there in the first place: to investigate.
It would be a lie to say that she wasn't familiar with the place, for she had worked as the previous security guard for the abandoned mall. But now those days were behind her, well that's what she thought when she was on her way to New York to finally become a full fledged detective. Yet she was back in the horrible concrete tomb, doing Clay Burke a favor.Clay had asked her to check on the place, because he heard that his son and his friends were going to go explore it and he wanted to make sure that the place was actually safe and all that.
The detective nimbly made her way around the dark halls, her torch being the only light so far. It was hot as well, she unbuttoned her blouse; hoping that would serve as some relief. But noticing that the blouse was still wet from the rain, she decided to ultimately take it off and tie it around her waist. She noticed how the white of her undershirt was more whiter than the "white" walls, this caused her to bring a finger to them and of course, dust coated her fingertip.
Y/N rolled her eyes. Had it actually been that long since she had been here?
She dismissed the thought from her head and continued to survey the building for her friend. Clay was a great man. He had helped her through a lot and was actually the one who pushed her to get out of Hurricane. If it wasn't for him, she would have been probably stuck as the guard here or as a small time deputy. Either way she would have been in the small town that she always wanted to escape.
It wasn't that Hurricane was a horrible town per se. It just seemed so boring. But that all changed with the disappearance of her mother and sister.
She was at school when it happened. Middle school. Her mother and her sister would go to the diner with the bear. There was another animal but she couldn't remember. But the two of them would go to the diner since her sister was too young to go to school at the time.
And that's all she knew. That was the last place they were seen. Theories varied from them running away to them being killed. She had tried to get her hands on the case file but it was one of those files that Clay kept in his office, away from anyone else. Most definitely to protect her. But from what?
A light caught her eye. It was coming from the main stage. That meant that there actually was a guard present.
Right? Her pace quickened, making her way to the stage room. But she was alone in the lit room.
Well, technically she wasn't since there were three animatronics on stage. The things brought an uneasiness to her. Was it their eyes or the way that they had been involved with all those disappearances in the past?
Her eyes darted away from them, looking around the room. It was empty, save for the stage. The stage! She walked over to it and found the little door that led underneath.
Under the stage a man sat.
His pale eyes met Y/N's E/C eyes."Who are you?" They both asked at the same time.
He smirked at the interaction.
She sighed and made her way inside.
"Do you wanna go first and tell me who you are?" She asked, looking around the little space.
