for vinny_15 , sorry this one took forever to crank out fam. but here it is!
"What do you think of this one?" The man turned, only to be met with silence.
"Cat?"
He looked down, expecting for his eyes to see his cat but the only thing they saw was the floor. The man's eyes searched the room, looking for his only companion these days.
Y/N sighed, feeling defeated as he slumped onto his bed. 'Another failure, huh?' He thought to himself as he caught one last glimpse at the suit he so desperately wanted his cat to judge. It wasn't all that bad, really. It was simple yet elegant. Well maybe a bit too elegant for a 20 year high school reunion. But Y/N didn't care at this point. He had learned to stop caring about what other people thought about his especially nice clothes years ago.
He chuckled, just remembering how his ex-husband hated when he would wear nicer clothes then him. It was so pathetic of him really. Wanting Y/N to not wear whatever he wanted, while he himself was out cheating on him just about every other Wednesday.
Y/N shook his head, standing up straight and looking at himself in the mirror. He was for sure going to wear the suit to the reunion. Not only that, but he would also take advantage of the drinks and food he wouldn't have to pay for. And he would have such a ball while doing it all.
If only Y/N knew what else would be in store for him that night.

The reunion was at 9:00 sharp, but Y/N opted to arrive around the thirty minute mark. He didn't want to get there early and be one of the only people there and have to awkwardly make conversation with whoever was there. Plus, he knew that his friend Vic wouldn't be there until it was around the time Y/N opted for.
That's why they were such good friends after all these years. The man smiled, remembering those earlier years.
How they had accompanied their friends on a double date in Sophomore year, only for them to start dating during Christmas Break of that year. Even though they were dating, they were always firstly friends. So when Vic discovered that she was a lesbian, of course Y/N was the first person to find out. Not because they were dating but because they always told each other almost everything.
Those years were some of the hardest for Vic, being that no one could know about her sexuality except for Y/N. That only strengthened their bond and cemented their relationship as platonic soulmates. Even when Y/N found out that he wasn't straight either; they stayed 'dating'.
Well, up until they graduated and left Utah.
It was easier for them to feign being a couple then to break up and still be seen almost everywhere together in those days.
Some days those were.
Y/N exited his car, seeing that it was now 9:34. He knew that Vic would be arriving any minute now. He never thought that he would be back in Hurricane again. Not after he had married a man to say the least, yet here he was.
"Hello, love of my life." Arms draped themselves over Y/N's shoulders as their torso closed in on his back. Y/N couldn't help but smile, his hands reaching for Victoria's.
"Hello headache of the night." Y/N teased.
Vic let go, allowing Y/N to turn and finally take her in. The two hadn't seen each other in what felt like years but was actually two months. Vic had been in Europe working on her photography so they weren't able to see each other at all. Calls were all they had.
