Agnes' Pov

"Why didn't you ask if she was okay?!" Sungchan exclaimed as we sat on the bleachers of the soccer field and watched as Mark, and Jeno played their turn. Sungchan sat on the bench taking a huge break. And no one seemed to care due to the fact that this man was incredibly talented and was the MVP.

"What was I suppose to do?" I exclaimed, "She didn't want me to butt in and I didn't!"

"What she really means is don't butt in her personal life," Shotaro sighed out, from my left side as he leaned out staring at the field in boredom, "But that doesn't mean that you can't talk to her when no ones there."

"But she just pushed passed me and didn't spare a cold glance." I reasoned truly starting to be confused at my actions beforehand.

"Maybe she was still shocked with what happened?" Sungchan asked as he shrugged, his hands gripping the bench as he stared straight.

"Or maybe she's angry," Shotaro sighed as he turned to face us, with an eyebrow raised.

"At who? At me?" I asked as I pointed to myself.

"Herself." He said plain and simple.

"Why would she be mad at herself? She did the right thing-" I asked as I scrunched my eyebrows up and was about to continue before being cut off.

"The right thing?" He scoffed, as he finally sat up and sat his elbows on his thighs, "She did what had to be done in order to protect you."

"Why would she want to protect me?"

"I over heard a conversation with Nathan a few days after the trial," He hesitated on continue before he probably made the internal choice of saying 'fuck it' before continuing on, "The only reason he was allowed back on campus was because she tried to retract her statement."

"Why are you just now telling me this?!" I asked as I stood up and tried to bolt down the steps, before Sungchan stopped me.

"Because she didn't know that I heard." Shotaro stood up alongside me, while taking glances, "And I figured it wasn't my story to tell."

"A heads up would have been nice!" I pushed past him and trailed down the steps, "A fucking crossword hint would've worked too!" I ran and ran looking at all of her possible classes before seeing the music room open and the lights off.

I quietly walked near the door and saw her sitting there, looking the the notes, not giving a fuck out of the world. In her own space as many would call it.

"Why did you retract your statement in court?" I whisper as I mumbled, walking towards her.

"Who told you?" She said without mimicking a shocked or nervous gaze.

"That's not important right now," I sighed as I walked closer to her, "Why did you retract your statement?"

"I didn't want that feeling to keep lingering in me. It make me feel icky?" she said, more like asked herself as she tried to justify her decision, "I didn't want to get justice first myself, while you had to sit and act as if everything was fine."

"I can handle myself, Astrid." I sighed out before composing myself, "You have to do that for you. Not for me."

"But technically you are me," she chuckled.

"That's not-"

"I was just kidding." She interrupted me before continuing, "But it would've been easier for me regardless."
