Chapter 3

I sniffle and wipe the tears from my cheeks and angrily walk to the bathroom of my dorm. My roomie and best friend, Armin, was gone with Jean, Marco, and Connie to watch the movie "When All Else Fails" downstairs in the lobby for movie night. I hardly ever went to the stupid movie night. There is way to many people crowded together in that tiny space. But good thing is, Levi hates movie night too....

I sigh and look in the mirror at myself. I was a mess. Bags under my eyes from lack of sleep and stress. Eyes red and bloodshot from crying not to mention the big ass bruise below my right eye. And my hair was greasy. I decide to get a shower hoping that the hot water would just wash every emotion away. Every feeling away.

About halfway through my shower I hear a faint knock on my door. I quickly rinse out the rest of the shampoo out of my hair and hop out yelling "Coming!" Thinking that it was Armin at the door. I wrap a towel around my waist and open it and I'm immediately greeted by lips pressing firmly against mine and someone shoving me back from the door shutting and locking it behind them. "Leviiiiii" I whine as he kisses my exposed chest "w-what are you doing here? You'll get in huge trouble." He looks at me and makes a tch sound and he leads me over to my bed and we both sit. "I came to talk to you Eren. Tell me what happened with your dad. Did he hit you?" Levi whispers his voice thick with anger as he gently touches my blackening bruise. I wince and he immediately jerks his hand away but says "Eren. Did. He. Hit. You." I nod weakly and hang my head explaining everything to him. When I finish he wraps his arms around me and we lay down. He rests his head in the crook of my neck and whispers "I will never let him hurt you over me again. I'm so sorry Eren." I grab his hand and squeeze it saying "But you're worth it." And we fall into a peaceful slumber.

Armins POV

After the movie ended and I said goodbye to Jean and Marco I decided to go back to mine and Erens room for some much needed sleep. I take out my key and fumble with the lock until it opens. The lights are off which is funny but I don't think anything of it. I flip them on and then I see Eren snuggled up with Levi. I gasp and they both jolt awake. "Shit Armin!" Eren whimpers covering his face. I try to gather my scattering thoughts and close the door behind me. Levi wraps his arms protectively around Eren and whispers something into his ear which seems to calm him down a little. "Listen you shitty brat. I'll leave. But you better not snitch to Erens dad about this. You can't let Eren get hurt again." Levi growls at me. My eyes widen slightly and I stammer "n-no stay as long as you want. W-what happened to Eren? How is he hurt?" Levi looks at a trembling Eren and says "Eren let him see your face. His dad did this." Eren turns to me and I gasp at the ugly black and purple bruise covering half his face under his eye. "Shit Eren. I'll get you some ice." He nods and I walk to our mini kitchen and grab some ice from the freezer and put it in a little baggie.

After Eren and Levi explain everything to me I'm seething with anger. I knew that Erens dad was very strict but I never had imagined he was abusive. I embrace Eren in a tight hug as Levi watches me. I let Eren go and he sniffs and I wipe the few tears gently from his eyes. "I won't tell Eren. Levi is totally welcome here." I whisper softly earning a nod from Levi and a small smile from Eren. "Get some rest." I tell them then walk over to my bed flipping off the light and closing my eyes.

Erens POV

The next morning I wake up around six to get ready for my first class and most dreaded one. European History. I try to sit up from my bed but there's a strong pair of arms wrapped around my waist preventing me from doing so. "Ewen no come sleep." A half-asleep Levi murmurs softly. Wait. Levi can't be in here. He'll get in so much trouble if he's found out! "Levi. Come on get up. Its six. We have class in a hour!" I whisper frantically and he sits up a defeated pout on his face. "Fine fine. I'll see you after class right?" He mumbles brushing his hair from his face. "Y-yes but promise you won't come looking for me? I'll find you ok?" He nods and pecks my lips then gets up shutting the door behind him as Armin stirs in his bed. "Morning Eren. How do you feel?" He says yawning and getting up. "Pretty good. Just not looking forward to class today." I mumble running my fingers through my hair trying to tame my wild bedhead. Armin laughs and walks to the kitchen grabbing us two bowls and some cereal. He brings a bowl over to me and we eat on my bed in silence.

I quickly finish and thank Armin and go to take a shower. When I get out I go to get my uniform on. Slacks, a burgundy button up with the monogram MA in gold letters and an eagle (which is our mascot), black leather shoes, and a "classy" black tie. I hated these things. The only time we didn't have to wear them was on Fridays. Armin showers and dresses then we head to class meeting up with Connie and Sasha along the way. We walk down the corridor a good ways and Armin, Sasha, and Connie reach their class leaving me to walk alone. I get to mine and walk in avoiding eye contact with Professor Bertoldt and quickly take a seat beside Mikasa who still looks angry at me.

We take a ton of boring notes and read chapters 8 to 11 and the bell finally rings. I jump up and quickly gather my things but Professor Bertoldt clears his throat and says "I need to speak with you Mr. Jaeger." I sigh and walk to his desk jealously watching the other kids file out of his class. Now don't get me wrong. Bertoldt was a nice guy and he was well respected at Maria Acadamy but his class was just so boring..."yes Professor?" I ask hesitantly and nervously swallow. He looks at me sternly and says "Eren you're failing my class." Uh oh. "But I'll make a deal with you. If you come back to my class at least three times a week for two hours, I'll boost your grade up to a C and then you can earn a B maybe even and A. Eren I know you can pass. I don't understand why you aren't trying." I look away from him and awkwardly fiddle with my shirt "y-yes sir. I will gladly come back after school. Thank you and I promise I will try." He smiles and shakes my hand "that's what I like to hear Mr. Jaeger. See you later!" I smile and nod politely and hurry out of his room immediately looking for Levi.
