Chapter 6 - Practice

The next day, Taehyung eagerly waited for 12pm to arrive as quickly as possible.

He imagined how Jungkook's studio would be, what all vocal exercises Jungkook would make him do, what Jungkook would be wearing, what he would sing, what all-

Someone smacked his forehead, and he sat up straight.

"Stop daydreaming already, kid. Get back to work." A coworker chastised.

"S-Sorry..." He got up and started tending to a customer.

He kept glancing at the clock every 10 minutes, and when 12pm came, he eagerly kept looking at the entrance door. He was staring at the counter daydreaming again when the bell chimed. The door opened and in came a man in grey shorts, beach sandals, a yellow tank top and a beige bucket hat, the man he had been waiting for.

Jungkook waved at him and sat down at a table close to the counter. Taehyung waved back but tried not to pay too much attention to him because there were a lot of customers, although he still kept a watchful eye out in case anyone bothered him.

He went over to Jungkook and said, "Hi. Would you like anything to eat or drink?"

"Hi, one dark cappuccino, no sugar. Thanks." {A/N That's my personal choice lol}

An hour went by quickly with Jungkook's presence, and in no time Taehyung's shift was already over. This time, thankfully, his manager let him go and he changed into his normal clothes.

Jungkook got up when he saw Taehyung getting out and they both left the cafe.

"Let's grab some lunch first? I saw restaurant right around the corner..." Jungkook offered.

"Yeah, there's a restaurant this way." Taehyung led him to a small fast food restaurant about a minute's walk away, and after grabbing a hamburger and fries, they both made their way back to the cafe.

"My car's over there." Jungkook led Taehyung over to a Red Bugatti.

"Whoa, whoa! You came in a Bugatti?!"

"Yeah. I mean, I did want to show it to you..." Jungkook smiled sheepishly.

"Oh my god, let's hurry up, we're attracting too much attention." People were staring at them, and the car. If Taehyung's manager or any coworker saw him getting into a Bugatti, they would definitely interview him and try to get him to spill.

They quickly got in and Strapped themselves in.

"Hold on tight," Jungkook smirked.

"Wait, whaaAAAAA- " Taehyung didn't get to complete his sentence as Jungkook sped onto the streets and zipped through the traffic.

"EEP!" Out of fright, Taehyung closed his eyes and held on to his seatbelt because there was no grab handle. He thought he was going to puke out the food he had eaten not too long ago, but managed to hold it in. After barely 5 minutes, the car stopped, of course at the cost of the two lurching forward a bit, but thanks to the seatbelts they stayed in place.

For a moment, there was silence, and even though the car had stopped, Taehyung couldn't bring himself to open his eyes.

"We're here, tae." Jungkook smiled fondly and stared at Taehyung.

Not registering the nickname, slowly, he opened one eye, then both. They were parked outside a lavish and tall building, but Taehyung couldn't see beyond the roof of the car.

"Come on." Jungkook took off his seatbelt and got out, and Taehyung quickly followed, not wanting to be left behind.

He gave his car keys to a valet and walked inside with Taehyung in tow. The receptionist seemed to immediately recognize him, and stood up and greeted him with a bow. Jungkook bowed back and led Taehyung over to an elevator.

"W-Where are we?" Taehyung asked.

Jungkook pressed a button to the 12th floor. "We're in the Diamond Entertainment building, darling." Taehyung gaped and the sheer number of floors the building had.

The elevator opened, and both of them walked out into a brightly lit, sort of empty corridor. Jungkook opened a door and ushered Taehyung in. On going inside, Taehyung realized this was a recording studio.

Jungkook settled down in one of the chairs and asked Taehyung to sit in front of him, the latter happily complying.

"Let's begin."

After about 3 hours of practice, Jungkook asked Taehyung to get some rest and cool off.

"I can show you around the building, if you want. I mean, hopefully no one will question what we're doing together, but..."

"Oh... No, nevermind then. Let's just go out and take a walk or something." Taehyung offered.

"...Okay." Jungkook regretted framing it that way, but complied and put on his mask. "There's a park not too far from here. Let's go there." Jungkook led Taehyung to a fairly big park, where there weren't many people.

Taehyung immediately liked the place. "Can we come here often?"

"I'd love to." Jungkook smiled. "In fact, if you want, we could practice here, too."

"That'd be great!" Taehyung offered a boxy smile which made Jungkook's heart do somersaults.

After walking in quietude for a while, they sat down on a bench. Okay, it's been a while. Do you want to resume practice here?"

"Yes!"

Two more hours of practice, and it's 7pm.

"I'll drop you home." Jungkook offered.

"Thank you." Taehyung smiled at him.

"...You're very welcome." The smiles that Taehyung gave, often seemed to be worth it.

On reaching home, when Taehyung was getting off the car, Jungkook suddenly exclaimed.

"I forgot to ask you, Hobi hyung's having a small get together on saturday next week. He asked me to invite you and Rapmon. Would you like to come along?"

"Of course! Pretty sure Namjoon hyung wouldn't say no, so it's a yes from both of us!"

"Great. I'll text Rapmon the address. See you both there."

"See you."
