Justice's POV
I still can't believe Carl yelled at Maddie. With all of this going on you would think we would be more structured.
I know why Maddie forgave Carl for yelling at her. She totally likes him!
And I totally like Blake...
Hannah is the only one of us that doesn't have her heart set on a guy.
I can't blame her, it's the apocalypse and it's worse than ever.
"Hey. I forgive Carl," Maddie said to me, smiling.
"Why? He was acting rude." I say lightning fast.
"He deserves it. Besides, we can't get in a fight. We're all in this together." She says cheerily.
She thinks we can make it. Just a bunch of 12 and 13 year old kids.
She thinks we can survive.
"Hey." Hannah says, walking into my room.
"Maddie and Carl are friends again." I say hastily. Sure, I'm glad Maddie is happy again, but Carl yelled at her, and even something that small makes me mad.
I know Maddie would be mad if Blake yelled at me. It's my job as her best friend to make sure Carl treats her right.
"Yeah, I know. Aren't you happy they are friends again?" Hannah asks.
"Yeah. I guess." I say.
I guess it's not that big of a deal that Carl yelled at Maddie if he knows he was wrong. But I will remember this.
