Caroline
It is Two hours into the flight, and I was bored. Well not exactly. I was trying to keep my eyes off Mr Handsome and failing. Jo was playing with him for about an hour before she got tired and he took her to the bedroom and tucked her in.
I had nothing to do. I wish I had my phone but that is not an option. I felt relieved when Luke walked in and started talking to the boss. Gosh I really should ask him his name. Luke looked at me and I pleaded with my eyes praying that he would get the message and stay. He turned to the boss and said something before walking over and sitting beside me.
"Is Miss Caroline bored?" he asked.
"Nope" I said, popping the p.
"Oh. Then I will be on my way" he made to get up when I caught hold of his arm and pulled him back,
"OK. OK.I was bored. Please stay" I said pleading.
He laughed. "OK, I will"
I flashed a big grin at him and he chuckled. "So how are you doing?"
"Well I honestly don't know."
He looked at me trying to figure out what to say.
"Have I ever mentioned you look someone in my favorite TV series?"
"Oh really, is he handsome like me?"
We talked for a long time about anything and everything. I had a weird feeling that someone was staring at me, but the only other person in the room was him. So, I didn't dare look. After a long time,I felt carefree. I didn't tell him anything about my past, neither did he ask, which I was grateful for. I was not ready for a trip down memory lane. Besides, no one needs to know.
Jess came in later. But it was weird, she looked at us, even though I beckoned her over but she ignored it and went to the corner and took a seat. I looked at Luke to see if he know what was wrong. But he looked just as surprised.
"Maybe its just the time of the month, you kno- ouucch" I hit him on his hand.
"What was that for? It hurt"
"Oh don't be dramatic." I said I leaned back on the seat and that is when I saw him glaring daggers at us. I caught his eye, but he just turned away.
Before I forgot, I turned to looked and asked in a whisper, "What is his name?"
Luke stared at me, probably to see if I was joking. When he figured out I was serious, he starting laughing. I punched his arm.
"I am sorry, but its just that you have been living in the house of the guy for a week and then traveling with him to another country and you still don't know his name>"
I rolled my eyes. I was sure I saw the boss man smile too, but that was gone as fast as it came.
"Are you going to tell me or not?" I asked Luke.
"He is Nick Hayes."
Huh. I let out a involuntary gasp. That was a name that caused people to shiver. He was popular among everyone as the most ruthless and cruel man.Even the police and media feared him.
And I was going to Italy to live with him.
Nick
I heard her gasp. I tend to have that effect on people. But this was different. I looked at her if she was scared and I caught her staring at me. I smirked at her but she quickly turned away but I swear I saw her blush. Cute.
She returned to talking to Luke, laughing like maniacs and I returned to glaring at them. I could not help it. Why was she laughing with him when I was sitting here. She could have talked to me. I may not seem like the most approachable person but still..Ugh.
They started hitting each other lightly and he took out a chocolate bar from his pocket. He tried to tease her with it and she tried to reached for it and climbed on top of him to reach causing her skirt to ride up.
Thats it.
"Luke." I called out. He looked at me and walked over to me.
"Yes boss"
"I want you to got through the files, I gave you this morning and find out more about the situation in Venice."
He stared at me in confusion. After all, I did tell him to check up on it after we reach Rome. But her knew better than to question my orders. And with what I assume was apologetic glance towards Caroline he started to work.
Caroline smiled at him and then looked at me or rolled her eyes. The nerve. I don't like people disrespecting me. I got up from my seat and walked over to her. "Problem, Miss Salvatore?", she gulped at my tone but that reaction did not satisfy me. I did not want her to fear me but I did not like people rolling their eyes at me.
"No, Mr Hayes"
I smirked at her.
"Thought so."
She nodded and looked out the window as she thought our little interaction was over.
I sat down beside her and looked around to see anyone was watching before slowly lowering down my face to ear "You can call me Nick" I whispered. I saw her blush and then nod.
Now that was a reaction I liked.
Luke.
I smiled to myself as she blushed when boss whispered something to her. Now I get why he smiles like a maniac now. He rarely smiled. Well I wouldn't blame him. After what all happened to him, I would be shocked if he reacted any other way.
I do wish Caroline stays with for a long time. I think as I see the the lights of Rome grow clearer and clearer and we get closer to home.
