Chapter 21

Caroline.

I walked into the one of the biggest clubs I have ever seen. Well I didn't know many clubs since I didn't exactly have the time to go to one.Last time I had come to one was on my nineteenth birthday.

He led me to the bar where the bar attender was making drinks. He had blue eyes, dirty blonde hair and quite a muscular build. He looked friendly enough.

"Hey Kev-" He was cut off by a brunette jumping on his lap and hugging him. He was returning the hug too. I had a weird urge to rip her head off.

"Heyyyyyyyyy, boss, long time, no see" she said while getting off of him.

"Yes Jenny, I had some work to do. Also,do not forget that I am your boss and I have told you to not hug me."

She rolled her eyes at him and I saw his knuckles clench in anger.That really pissed him off huh.She seemed to notice the change in him to and immediately looked apologetic.

"Sorry,Boss,I forgot."

Nick just nodded and turned to the bar.

"So, Kevin, this is the girl I told you about. She is going to be a waitress here."

"Sure boss, Jenny can show her around." Jenny looked at me up and down like she was analyzing me.

"Who are you?" She asked skeptically. I involuntarily began fidgeting under her gaze. I did not like her analyzing me. "I-um"I stuttered.

She laughed "Chilll, I am just messing with ya". She said before offering her hand. I took it and she shook it. I saw Nick roll his eyes from behind Jenny.

"I am Jenny, I am a waitress here too."

"Nice to meet you."

"What's your name?"

"Caroline."

"Nice to meet you, Caroline. Come on lets get you started" She said before pulling me into the crowd.

I watched Jenny pull Caroline away. I did not want her to work here with the threat looming over us.I was not afraid of the threat but the Igor's mafia is big and very good at hiding. I still did not know what he wanted with them. I knew Caroline did not tell the complete truth but I did not want to force her. Talking about the past can be really hard and took a lot of courage and trust.

She walked around the club with Jenny handing over drinks to customers. She was so beautiful. Just  looking at her brought a smile to my face. She was just like my mother in many ways. She was independent and wanted to do everything on her own. Her beauty too reminded me of my mother. She was a mother to Jo even when it was really hard for her. She could just have left her behind like most girls do at this age. But she didn't. She worked hard and acted like that Jacob's slave so that he wouldn't hurt her sister. But he did anyways. I felt a renewed sense of anger and I wanted to make him see hell again. I wanted to go back to the dungeons and finish him off. But this was not the time.

I sighed and decided to finish some work in my office. Just as I sat on the chair, the door swung open and the doorway stood a familiar blonde.

"Missed me, baby?"

I groaned and rolled my eyes.

"Get out, Abbey." She pouted but covered that up with smug grin again.

"I know you missed me, baby"

"Do not call me that" I rolled my eyes. She was one of my one night stands who is in an illusion that somehow I am her boyfriend.

"I missed you too baby."She said while coming around the desk and trailing her hands down my cheek.

She was testing my patience now.

"I said get out, do not make me throw you out by your collar like the garbage you are."

She did not give up, instead she decided to straddle me. That's it. I pushed her off of me and pulled out my gun. I saw her face go pale. I caught hold of her neck and lifted her up.

"DO NOT DISRESPECT ME, DO YOU UNDERSTAND" I yelled at her.I continued to chock her.

"If I say get out, you the get the hell out." I did not want to stop. I wanted to just snap her neck, so that I don't see her again. Just then I felt a small warm hand on my arm slightly pulling it back.

"Nick please let her go" I turned my head to see a nervous Caroline with worry etched on her face. I instantly calmed down and I finally let the filth go. She felt to the floor, coughing and trying to catch her breath.

I took out my phone from my back pocket and dialed Aidan's number. He picked up instantly.

"Aidan get to my office immediately and throw Abbey out."

I turned to her on the floor. "If I ever see you again, I will make sure that you don't ever see daylight again.And don't try for any other job here. It will be a complete waste of time because I will personally  make sure that you don't get a job anywhere in Italy. So you might as well leave the country." She nodded furiously. Aidan walked in and grabbed Abbey roughly and started walked to the entrance.

I finally turned to Caroline and sighed. Her arm was still on my hand. She noticed it too and pulled it away immediately. I took one step towards her but she flinched and walked backwards.

She was scared of me.That hurt.

I tried getting close to her but she kept moving backwards. I stopped and sighed.

"I won't ever hurt you."

Caroline.

I was scared. I had come to Nick's office because Kevin had send me.I heard yelling from his office and I peeped in and saw that he was chocking a girl. He looked really angry and I got worried. I flinched as he moved towards me.I knew he was in the mafia and it was usual for him to do things like this.He kidnapped me for god's sake.

I looked at him and I saw hurt. That immediately made me want o hug him.

"I won't ever hurt you." He said looking straight into my eyes. I knew he was telling the truth. He never did anything to prove otherwise. He never tried to hurt me or Jo except for the time he ordered to kill me. But that was two months ago. Heck,he even saved Jo.

I smiled at him and started walking towards him. He looked confused as I walked up him and hugged him.

"I know"I said softly.

He sighed and kept his chin on top of my hair.
