The night enveloped the sky as the crescent moon waved over the bright city lights. Hannah looked at the blanket of stars, twinkling above her.
"Ang lamig" Hannah muttered under her hoodie, the cold air touching her skin and since Hannah had already cut her hair from above her shoulder, she feels more cold but there is something liberating in having her hair cut really short after keeping it long for so many years.
Hannah clutched on the box of cake on her hands, being careful not to drop it or anything. She needs to keep the cake safe as it's the only gift she has for today's special occasion.
"Thank you sa flowers love!"
"Para sayo mahal"
Sabi ng dalawang magkasintahan na katabi ni Hannah habang nag hihintay siya ng bus sa waiting shed.
"I wonder what Lisa prepared for us," Hannah said upon hearing the couple beside her.
Agad na rin namang dumating ang bus na sasakyan niya at nagpasalamat ito na wala gaanong tao na nakasakay rito at hindi niya kinakailangang tumayo. She sat beside the window and looked outside the crescent moon.
I'm excited to see Lisa. Hannah thought to herself with a smile as she placed the cake box on her lap.
Today is a special day because it's Lisa's birthday. But it's not only that. They both have a special occasion to celebrate, and that is their 7th year anniversary.
Yes. Today marks the seventh year that they've been together since high school.
Today, Lisa will be turning 24 and she's already in her third year college in Law school. Funny how she used to constantly doubt herself if it's possible for her to become an Attorney but look where she is now. Just a few more pushes and only a year and half left in Law school, she's moving closer to her dreams.
And so is Hannah. Hannah graduated Architecture two years ago and is now on her final year of apprenticeship. After completing her apprenticeship she'll be able to take the boards and become a full pledge Architect. Just like she always wanted.
The both of them are moving and are growing together. Just like what they've always promised to each other many years ago.
"I'm home!" Hannah shouts, as she enters their condominium. As soon as they graduated, they soon left the apartment that they'd rented during their college days and moved to a more decent place.
The lights were still off. "She's not home yet?"
Hannah took off her jacket and placed her bag beside their couch and opened the lights.
"Ugh" Hannah groaned loudly. Feeling the pain on her back as she laid down on their soft, comfy couch. She opens her phone and checks Lisa's messages only to find all of her messages unseened and unreplied. "Why is she not replying?"
She throws her phone not so far from her. She'll just have to wait for now. Staring at the ceiling for an hour and inhaling and exhaling trying to keep her patience together. Well, she's always patient when it comes to Lisa.
But three hours passed and Lisa's still not home and worry is starting to grow on Hannah as she takes her phone and checks if Lisa had any messages to her. But there's none.
She was about to call her but just then, she heard the door clicking. Knowing that it's Lisa, Hannah quickly got up from the couch in an excited manner.
