"FUCK!!" I screamed as I had a rude awakening, by falling off my bed. "What a great start to the morning isn't." I complained as I got back onto my bed. But thankfully I was even more startled when my mom came running in. "HIRAETH what happened? are you okay I heard screaming and a thud?" As I stood up unable to do anything but responded happily I said. "I'm fine mom just fell out of my bed." She walked over to me and stopped me from doing anything. "Are you still having those dreams?" She asked me with a sympathetic look, so I offered her a smile. "They weren't dreams, they were nightmares and I haven't had them since we moved." She smiled though I don't think she believed me. "Alright get ready today is the day you go to your new school." She looked at me. "You remembered to pack right?" I laughed "of course I did okaa-san, why would I forget to pack for my new school that happens to be a kishuku gakko?". She smiled "I suppose you are right now get ready and come eat breakfast before your late." She ordered me before walking back to her room.
"Time to get ready Hiraeth wouldn't wanna be late on your first day, would you." I asked myself mockingly while looking in the mirror.
Before I forget to introduce myself I'm Hiraeth Yoshida, and that was my mother Aiko Yoshida we are from Tokyo, Japan we moved to the Uk "for a new start" or so my mother says. But unfortunately today I start at my brand new boarding school.
"Hiraeth hurry come eat!" My mother shouted from downstairs. "Coming okaa-San" I shouted back. After that I got ready and grabbed my bags heading downstairs.
"Okka-san why do I have to got to a kishuku gakko why could I have just gone to a public school around here like any other kid" I asked as I put my bags by the door.
"Because in your other school back home you were a top student and here a public school would not challenge your brain like it should be." She says down. "Now come and eat before we have to go." I groaned and sat down to eat.
"You do know that if I had gone to a public school I'd be a top student with no problem." I said as I ate "stop complaining it's a good school and a new start is great." She looked at me. "And stop talking with your mouth full." By the time I finished eating both me and my mom were ready, I slipped on my shoes, put my bags in the boot of the car and sat in the front waiting for her. "Come on mom you still have to work after and it's a long car ride!" I shouted as I beeped the horn. She came out and got in the car. "Sorry it was a call from work I had to tell them I'd be a little late." She put her bag down and started to drive. "See aren't you glad you're letting me take the train if you'd have driven me you would've missed your first day of work." I snickered,
She smiled. "Yes but I still believe that you have some alternative motive for that train ride."
"Of course I'm coming during a new year. People probably already have life long friends. I just wanna make some friends." I smiled and we both just zoned to some music before arriving at the station. She parked the car and we got out to get my bags. "Okaa-san i know I'm gonna see you on holiday but do I-" *She cut me off. "It's good for you to go darling, it will be better for you." She held back tears. "Oh come here." She pulled me into a hug. "I'll miss you okaa-san." I hold back tears. "What have I told you we are too strong for tears." She tries not to cry as she holds my face. "Now let's go, you have your ticket, your money wallet bag, suitcases everything?" I wiped my eyes and looked at her. "Yes I do okaa-san, you don't have to worry I know where to go." She smiled. "Okay go before you kiss your train go and drop off your bags okay." I picked up my bags and said my last bit of farewells to my mom, I headed to the station where the train for the school is and dropped off my bags. "Your bags will be in the school where you can pick them up, miss." The bagboy told me.
I nodded and headed to the train entrance, but before I could enter the train station someone stepped in front of me, almost making me fall. "Hey watch it!" I said as I caught myself before falling. "You don't have an English accent." The person said. "Wait so you have no manners and all you can think of is why I don't have an English accent." I rolled my eyes. "And I thought Brits were the definition of manners," I said as I started to walk past him.
He stopped me. "I'm sorry, your quite right." He smiled, and offered his hand to shake it. "I'm Danny Watson, and you are?" I shook his hand. "Hiraeth Yoshida, the new transfer student."
"Ah yes I've heard about you, oh and sorry about the whole making you fall thing." He apologized. "It's fine." I walked off and set down by myself putting my headphones on and playing my playlist.

"Hey Danny what are you standing there for, mate let's head-on."
"Oh hey Dawson come on mate, but where is Liam?" He asked as he looked around.
"Liam and Edens parents decided to drive them up to the school themselves." Dawson responded. "But why aren't you inside, you usually wait for us in the cabin?" Dawson asked confused
"Yeah well, I bumped into the new girl that everyone's been talking about," Danny answered as they both started to walk into the train.
"That Japanese exchange student, yeah, it's quite odd coming this year," Dawson said, but Danny had stopped walking.
"Dawson if Eden and Liam aren't here we shouldn't take up the cabin let's sit here," he said as he set in the same table seats as me
"Alright, mate." He sat next to Danny.
I looked up and took my headphones out confused. "Can I help you?"
"No, we just have nowhere else to sit." Danny responded Dawson chuckled a bit before introducing himself.
"I'm Dawson Atlas and I'm guessing you're the new exchange student." He offered a smile. I looked at him with a serious look. "And why is that?" I asked, feeling offended. I suppose he heard the offense in my voice. "Well because I know everybody in the bloody fucking school and I've never fucking met you." He smiled and said it sweetly but he wanted me to feel the venom in his words.
Danny could feel the tension in our looks. "Well, Das this is Hiraeth Yoshida." He said in an attempt to cut the tension out.
The rest of the train ride went by in utter silence I zoned out to my music only occasionally peeking over at Dawson then at Danny to make sure nothing was going on, and they both were just in their world doing whatever it is that they do.
After a while, Danny had fallen asleep and Dawson put on his music and we both eventually ended up starting at each other. And I knew that this year was already off to a peculiar start and it's only gonna get more intense.
