I wonder into my house feeling not too great but better since Wilbur apologized and seemed like he was in a better mood. I had checked once more if Will said anything in the group chat but only the dull message of him leaving and then rejoining the chat was seen.
Clay texted me, sorry let me rephrase, spammed me about me adding him back into the chat i didn't respond because i wasn't too sure how to.
"Mom?" i shouted without looking up from my phone, 'She must not be home, maybe it's a late shift again' i thought shrugging it off as i put my phone away.
I watched TV waiting for my mom to telling me she's coming home so i could cook her dinner before she got here as a surprise. A few hours passed and nothing, i made spaghetti and waited a bit before eating to see if she'd come home while i was waiting.
It was 11:47pm nothing still. I decided to head to bed but couldn't sleep. It was probably nothing and this has happened before but my thoughts scared me to stay awake. I texted her a few times over the past hours and decided to send a final text to not bother her.

____________________________________I sent it worried, usually even when she was busy she'd respond after i texted twice. She always said she'd check in if she work a late shift, i breathed slowly like Will taught me to when i got worried like this. It helped a lot. After a few minutes of sitting in silence i decided to call.
It rang and rang. No pickup, i called again, nothing. I was getting really worried now.
I jumped, startled by a knock at our front door. I sat up and ran to the door ready to hug my mom, it was a man. A tall one. "Hey kid. Uh, we have some new about your mom." he said weakly, scratching his neck behind him stood a man about as tall as george, i was up to his shoulders and another a bit shorter than the one as tall as george.
"Do you mind if we come in?" the man upfront said, thinking and looking at them for a second i recognized them. They came over for dinner once, their moms work buds. "Yeah sure, sorry." i apologized opening the door, they sat on the couch and i sat on the chair nearest to the couch. "I've got no idea if you remember us but we were your moms work friends. I'm Lance." the tallest one said, "I'm Greg." said the shortest one "And my name is Oliver." said the one almost as tall as George.
"Nice to see you all again. Why are you guys here? And do you happen to know where my mom is?" i asked, they looked at each other "Those two questions will both be answered at the same time." Oliver said with a soft tone. I furrowed my eyebrows confused Lance spoke up, "Your mom she.. got in and accident driving home." he half muttered. I sat in shock not able to move or say anything. "Will she be okay?" i asked weakly, "She, well she.." Oliver spoke again hesitant looking to Greg and Lance. "She died." Greg said abruptly and sadly, "We are sorry for your loss." Greg apologized.
I opened my mouth to speak and nothing came out. I work good under pressure i've made my best decisions that way, people have always told me to speak from my heart but all my heart does is pump blood and now i wish it could do more. Like tell me what to say right now. But since that's my brains job i said nothing. Neither did they.
I stood up, "I'm sorry you had to come and tell me. Please go." i said quite rudely, not on purpose of course but i wanted them out. They nodded me goodbye and i shut the door.
After a second of taking in what had happened i called Wilbur and asked for him to come over. He heard me crying over the phone so he came over as quick as he could.
I laid on the couch still soaking in the fact that she was gone. Was there going to be a funeral? I would have to plan it alone. All my thoughts started stressing me out until i heard a knock at my door, i got up and answered it. To no surprise it was Will. I fell into his arms immediately crying as he picked me up slightly to bring us inside the house. I cried on his shoulder but i heard footsteps despite Wilbur not moving. I looked up and a soft hello and wave came from Niki. I buried my head into Wills shoulder in embarrassment. "We're sorry." Alex apologized. i'm not sure for what but i nodded accepting his apology. Will set me down on the couch and sat beside me. I laid my head on his shoulder.
"So what are you gonna do now?.." Clay asked hesitantly, "I'm gonna call my family and help plan my mom's funeral." i said staring blankly. "Did you guys make up yet?" i asked looking to them worried, they said nothing looking to eachother "Yeah." Nick said after a silence. "Good." i said laying my hand near Wilburs, wanting to hold his hand but being to shy to.
With a singular look he understood, and held my hand.
