"Now you promise me you'll come home right?" Hazelight says, frantic worry in her voice.

"Of course mum, it's not like I'm going to go on some death threatening journey or anything," Sorrowfang receives a quick smack on the shoulder, his mother not taking the sarcasm.

"I'm serious Sorrowfang! I can't lose you too." Her ears go down, then raise a little. Her gaze softens, putting her light yellow paw on his cheek, she smiles softly, a hint of sadness in the mix.

"You look so much like your father.."

Sorrowfang looks down at his mother then smiles a little, nuzzling her paw. "I know, you say it All the time... Heh."

Hazelight puts her paw back down, then puts her forehead on his, Sorrowfang lowering his head slightly to reach her.

"Just promise me you'll come home.."

Sorrowfang smiles a little, not wanting to upset her. Truly, he didn't believe he'd come back to her alive. But he had to keep hope for her, she had lost her mate and her own son not too long ago. If she lost one more, Sorrowfang didn't know what his mother would do. Maybe she'd be like Melonpoppys mother? He couldn't bear the thought of his own mother being so sad.

"I promise."

Sorrowfang nuzzles his mother once more, looking into her soft blue eyes. There was pain and sadness in there, but also love and proudness. "Go save the world my baby boy."

Sorrowfang laughs, a big smile fills his face as he shakes his head, leaving the den. As he steps out onto the warm dirt, the sun shines down on his brownish yellow coat.

As he makes his way back over to the old tree, he hides his smile and looks tough, keeping his head high and ear's up. Over by the tree is Melonpoppy and Koiwish. When Sorrowfang sees Melonpoppy he starts to feel his face flush a little, his tummy felt like there were a million butterflies trying to fly around and get out.

Koiwish spot's him and wave's a little. Her bobbed tail going nuts like a dog. Sometimes, Sorrowfang wondered if Koiwish was just a dog put in a cat's body.

Once, Koiwish had seen a ball in a blown up home, and she refused to stop playing with it until she ended up losing it. She was very upset, but ended up forgetting about it completely after playing with other cats in her clan.

"Hehe, hey Sorrowfang, what took you so long?" Koiwish smiles, giggling some more as Sorrowfang grew slightly annoyed with this spotted cat.

"What the hell do you mean? Gia and Shadowpaw aren't even here yet." He glares at her slightly as she giggles more, clearly just teasing him.

Koiwish continues to speak as she see's Sorrowfang roll his eyes. "Oh calm your tail, I was just teasing! We only just came back over here." She hears him give a little huff. She giggles some more, then stops and thinks.

"Actually, why do you think Gia and Shadowpaw are taking so long? Do you think it's because they have a pretty big family?" Koiwish looks between Sorrowfang and Melonpoppy waiting for them to answer.

Melonpoppy hums, thinking. "I mean, probably. They're one of the only families whose parents and other relatives are still alive."

Koiwish answers quickly, "But isn't most of your family still alive Melonpoppy? How come you didn't take long?"

She tilts her head, looking at Melonpoppy's gorgeous golden eyes. Koiwish felt her face get warm again, but before she could ponder on it Sorrowfang speaks up.

"Yeah, and what's with this thing?" He paws the small barreled collar Melonpoppy was given to by her mentor, before leaving back to the dead tree.

Melonpoppy looks at it, her ears go down a little as she laughs. "Well, that's a special collar for me to carry around my herbs."
