As Mustafa surveyed the club with laser beam focus, Special broke away from tongue kissing Karter on the red sofa that matched her Alice in Wonderland costume.
"I'm so happy you came." She rested on the crook of his arm.
"I didn't come yet." He took a sip of his drink. "I want to see you cum first."
"Is that a trick request?"
"It's a treat." He leaned forward to soak his lips onto hers. "I want to see you play tonight."
"As a voyeur?"
"Yep."
She wasn't convinced.
"What's the catch, funny man?" She referred to him dressing as the Joker; he wore a purple two-piece suit with a lime dress shirt underneath.
"There's no catch. I want to see you play with anybody..." He took a sip from the red plastic cup and followed with, "...anybody but Nic."
Special pursed her bottom lip. "Let's go."
"Where?"
"Don't act clueless now. Let's go near the playrooms. We're going to have a silent auction." She stood from the sofa as he led the way.
Karter walked through a sea of admirers who either hugged or kissed Special on the cheek. He didn't mind the feminine affection she got. He toyed with the fantasy of pulling off a threesome with some of the women who flirted with him through stares. The guys, for the most part, had crossed the thin line between whassup? and I wanna fuck. He told himself, chill, as he overheard guys shower Special with compliments:
"Hey, Spesh. Looking good tonight."
"Damn, you look fine."
"You got a great future behind you."
"You're looking right and tight, hun. What's the secret?"
"How long you staying tonight?"
"Where you've been? I haven't seen you in weeks."
"You're wearing that outfit."
"Where did you buy that costume?"
"I heard you're getting married. Is it true?"
The last question came from Jay, the house DJ.
"Congrats." He shook Karter's hand.
She huffed in response. "Thanks, but we're not getting married."
"Oh." He faked surprise. "Are we still on for our date?"
She took the high road with a low blow instead of blasting him for his pettiness.
"You could take me out when you remember your wallet." She slapped his ego to smithereens.
"C'mon, Spesh. I didn't have a way to pay the check."
"You could've used your card."
"My credit card was in my wallet."
"Was that after you left it home so you could come up with an excuse to spend money on your other bitch?"
Jay was tongue tied.
She hooked her arm under Karter's and told Jay, "If we ever go on a date, which is never, I'll be more than happy to pay for the meal and show you how to feed someone."
She held her head high and walked off with Karter toward the playrooms.
She slipped on her blue harlequin mask after the brown nosing stopped. She grew tired of people kissing her ass – fake muthafuckas who wouldn't give her two nickels to rub if she was homeless. She stopped at the pool table to catch familiar faces as potential playmates.
