ANBU Naruto

After Naruto finished training he showered, grabbed his pack, and shunshined near where his team would meet. When he got there it was to find everyone but Kashi waiting. That was weird considering he was about fifteen minutes early. "There you are Naruto! Now we just need to wait for our chronically late sensei." Sakura greeted, grumbling the last part with her arms crossed. "Hi Ra, Ke." He greeted in return. "What's with the nicknames?" Sasuke asked, delicate eyebrow raised. "Oh um... Well, I give all of my precious people nicknames... So I made those for you guys. Do you not like them?" He questioned while looking down, tears forming. "No, no! We love them, right Ke?" Sakura asked/begged. "Yeah, we love them Ru." Sasuke oblidged. At the sound of his own new nickname he looked up, practically beaming. "Really?! Thanks guys!" He exclaimed, hugging them both. "You kids are bipolar." Tazuna pointed out, recieving death glares in return. "If looks could kill, I'm sure I'd already be in the afterlife." He commented while sweat dropping as they proved his point. It was at this moment that Kashi decided to jump down from the tree he was hiding in. "Yo." He greeted, orange porn book in hand. "Kashi! You're on time?! Guys, it must be an imposter, run!" Naruto exclaimed. They all three looked ready to bolt, Naruto protecting them as they slowly backed away. "Mah guys, I'm never late for important missions and events." Kashi defended, trying to ease their worry while slightly exasperated. All of them untensed slowly, still never completely letting their guard down like ninja should. "Hi Kashi!" Naruto greeted while running up to give him a hug. "Hi Naru-chan." Kakashi greeted back while ruffling his hair and giving everyone an eye-smile that just seemed a little more genuine than usual. "Let's get going shall we? Manji formation. I'll take point. Naru-chan left. Ra-chan right. Ke-kun rear. Tazuna, stay in between all of us." Kakashi ordered having already began walking. "Hai!" the genin replied, Tazuna simply falling in line.

A few hours before the border of the Land of Fire, We find team 7 and their client Tazuna walking towards a randomly placed puddle. Naruto noticed this and brought forth a question. "Hey Kashi, it's been really sunny today. I hope it rains soon. Don't you?" He queried while gesturing towards the puddle with his head, causing the Ra and Ke to tense up. "Hm. I haven't really thought about it, but now that you bring it up, we could do with some rain. It's long overdue after all." Kashi replied. At this point they had walked right next to the puddle when two figures shot out and wrapped their chain around Kashi, 'killing' him. This resulted in Ra's eyes widening but her still falling into a defensive stance in front of the client. Ke simultaneously was charging and engaging an enemy, Ru do the same to the other. "Watch out their claws are poisoned!" Ra warned. 'I already knew that but I can't let them know that. It's also really hard to hold back and not just straight up kill them.' Naruto thought, blocking another clawswipe. Suddenly a chain came towards Sasuke, the undercover ANBU distracting his enemy and lodging the chains into a tree with shuriken, allowing the Uchiha to keep them there by tossing kunai into the shuriken. At this time Kashi decided to come out of hiding and knocked the two enemies out. "Thank kami you're alive. It would've totally sucked if you actually died. I'm sure Ru would never get over it." Sakura commented from her slightly relaxed defensive position causing the blonde to blush. "I guess it would've totally sucked if you died." Naruto relented while looking away. "Mah, Naru-chan, no need to worry, I'm not going anywhere." Kakashi chuckled while ruffling his hair making Naruto blush more and hug him while grumbling, "Better not. I'll drag you back from the afterlife and kill you myself if you do." This caused Kashi to chuckle, making Naru's heart skip a beat. 'Damn. What is this feeling?' He thought while letting go. When Kakashi finished chuckling, the mood around them was suddenly very tense as he began glaring at Tazuna instead. "Come on my cute little genin. Let's go learn some torture and interrogation techniques." Kakashi ordered, sounding a little too merry with that eye-smile.

After about twenty minutes of screaming and grunting from the direction they went, they came waltzing back over with blood on their hands and glaring heatedly at Tazuna. "So? You like endangering my cute little genin Tazuna?" Kakashi questioned with his arms crossed, eyebrow raised, and eye narrowed. "I-I... You gotta believe me. I thought they'd send a group of chunin with me! Besides, our country could only afford a C-rank. With Gato on the loose we're barely getting by. My bridge is our only hope. He took over all the import and exports and trades! Everyone else who has stood up to him has died! I have a daughter and grandson at home I must take care of! So please, I beg you!" He explained, grovelling on the ground. "Get up old man. You're just lucky we're stronger than your average fresh genin. If we weren't we'd at least be harmed. You could have just explained things to Hokage-jiji and he would've sent people way more qualified and set up a payment system after your country is freed. But noooo, you just had to endanger people rather than just ask for help. You better count your lucky stars that Hokage-jiji already knew you were lying and believed we could handle it." Naruto ranted. After he was finished everyone just stared before he spoke again. "Well? Let's move it people! We're burning daylight!" He ordered, marching off and taking point with Kakashi taking his old spot on Tazuna's right. "Well, you heard the man, let's get going. We've got ground to make up." He said, knocking his other students out of their stupor and causing them to fall into position.
