"It's freezing out here!" I shouted. "No really Bex? I didn't notice." My friend said. My name is Bexleigh, but my friends call me Bex. It was my mom's favorite name when she was little and I guess she stuck with it.

My mom hasn't been around well..since she passed away. Her and my dad both passed away actually. For reasons no one thought to tell me. My family has been keeping secrets from me my whole life but my parents' death? It's kinda suspicious why they left that information out.

I live with my grandmother. She is honestly my best friend. Besides the friends I have now. She always understood me, but she might not understand this..

Currently, we're in the middle of the woods. This was supposed to be where we were going to meet our friends but they cancelled last minute because of the wind storm coming in. That left my friend Noah and I out here alone.

It was cold outside, the wind was blowing my hair everywhere. I slowly pulled my hood up. "Noah, Can we leave now? I can barely see anymore!" I asked my friend. He was scanning the place like he was on some mission. "There is someone else here!" He screamed through the loud wind. "Then let's go back!" I yelled. The wind blew my hood off causing my hair to go crazy again.

"Not yet!" The wind drowned out his voice, I couldn't hear what he was trying to say. "I'm calling Camron to pick us up!" I shouted. Cam was our friend. Our friend with a car. He's the funniest guy I know. I would tell him that but he doesn't try to make us laugh, he's just uncoordinated.

I reached in my pocket for my phone. When I pulled it out to unlock it a huge gust of wind came by and it slipped out of my hands, flying behind me. Just then we heard a growl. Noah froze stiff. He slowly turned his head towards me. "Tell me you heard that too.." He whispered. He had fear painted all over his face. "I wish I could say I didn't." I responded.

We heard leaves wrestling behind us. I started to shiver. Fear has always been something that overpowered me. I remember when I was little I would be terrified to go down in the basement. Or should I say terrified of going anywhere. I use to never want to leave my house. Thankfully I've grown out of that. I'm wishing now that I would have just stayed home like my friends.

"Should we run?" I asked. "Well, If there is something out here, we shouldn't...okay lets run!" He said starting to sprint. I was racing behind him. The wind was slowing us down. A few minutes later we were almost at the end of the forest. I could see a road. Happy to see a way out, I ran faster. The closer we got the more light shinned in on the forest. We were almost at the road when something jumped in front of us.

Noah stopped so fast he almost fell right into the creature. I stopped, running into Noah's back. Almost knocking him over. Tears filled my eyes. This thing looked like a monster you would see in a movie, and I was scared of it. "Is that a dog?" I asked with a shaky voice. "It's huge." Noah said slowly backing up, hitting my shoulder with his. I backed up as well. The creature got closer to us. It growled so loud I couldn't even hear the wind. "Bex.." He whispered. "Y-yes" I answered. He turned to me, not taking his eyes off the beast. "When I say go, we run." His voice began to weaken. "Run? Noah- I can't I-" He interrupted me. "If you want to leave this forest alive. You run." I gulped, nodding my head in agreement.

Noah took a step back. His breathing got heavier. "3..2..1..GO!" He shouted. We turned around and ran for our lives. At first the creature didn't follow us. I thought we were in the clear. I guess it was just giving us a head start. It growled before running after us. My legs felt numb from running so fast. I began to get slower and slower. "Bex! You've got to run faster!" Noah screamed. "I can't!" I yelled back. I then trailed off in another direction hoping it would get confused and stop chasing us. It didn't. It followed me my way and was getting closer to me. Running around trees I felt as if this was all the end. Till I felt two sharp claws dig into my shoulders pushing me to the ground.

I blacked out- Well, at least I thought I did. I didn't though, I was totally awake, I just couldn't move. The creature was hovering over me. It's drol dripping beside my face. It's sharp teeth were showing, as it breathed heavily down on me. I was in panic, at this point I couldn't even process what was happening. I heard a loud thud as the animal fell beside me.

I looked up to see Noah with a huge stick in his hand. He threw the stick and bent down to help me up. When helping me up the creature jumped back on his feet and bit into Noah's hip. He screamed in pain and dropped to the ground. The creature sprinted away. "Holy shit!" Noah screamed touching his wound. I took off my hoodie and held it against the blood dripping from his skin.

"Noah give me your phone." I demanded. "It's in my jacket pocket." He answered wincing in pain. I reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone. I then dialed Cameron's number. He would know what to do.
