𝚆𝚊𝚗𝚍, 𝙾𝚠𝚕, 𝚂𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚌𝚑!

I sat myself down in the hustle and bustle of the great hall, joining the conversation Blaise was now having with Theo. "Girls spend all their time on their phones and never go outside." "Yeah. Learn girls!" "Boys learn" I responded, to which all the slytherin boys contested entirely. "How many times did you go outside this summer then, Lex?" Draco said, obviously amused by the entire charade. "I was literally outside all day every day skating around my subdivision soooo" I flicked my hands and shrugged. "Skating?" Theo asked, crinkling his nose in confusion "so think shoes... but with wheels on the bottom" I answered. Now all the slytherins at the table crinkled their noses. "How the hell do you stand up?" Draco asked, furrowing his brows as he took a sip of pumpkin juice. "I-you just- it's complicated to explain, but maybe if you came to visit me, you'd know." I smirked, digging into my mashed potatoes.

"Oh my god Draco, you didn't visit her?" Pansy said. "My dad wouldn't let me leave home and go that far!! You're across a bloody ocean!!" He commented, exasperated. I took another bite of mashed potatoes, rolling my eyes. "I will stab you with this fucking potato fork if you don't visit me next summer I swear to baby Jesus-" I growled at him from across the table, pointing at my fork which was covered in potato... residue (wtf else do I say man-)

The first evening back at hogwarts was rather boring, other than seeing an old friend.

'Sup Remus' I mouthed at the professor, waving at him. I caught his eye and he rolled his eyes, waving. "You know him?" Draco asked, glancing at the new professor.

"Yeah. Him and my dad go way back to their school years. In fact Remus is my tutor during the summer." I explained. "He seems... weird" Pansy grimaced. "And you're just a bucket of normal right?" I elbowed her, causing the table to erupt in snorts and scoffs. Pansy just ignored me and continued to eat, but I could tell my joke made its mark as she was clenching her jaw and holding back a smile. "Screw you" she said, her expression finally breaking.

The prefects had led us down to the commons and up to the dorms. There I found my baggage next to a few other bags. The girls in my dorm all sat in a circle to a game of wand, owl, snitch to sort each other into the beds. Whoever wins gets the bed that didn't creak if you sat down on it.
Wand owl snitch is basically like Rock Paper Scissors, but rather than normal muggle objects, it's normal wizard items. Each girl plays against another and the winner challenges the winner of another group. There were only eight girls so it narrowed down easily

(Wand cancels snitch, snitch cancels owl, owl cancels wand I'll explain more at the end of the chapter lmao)
In the end it was between me and a girl named Mary Belby. A smart young woman but a pain to talk to since she was so rude and took every single comment like an insult. Her parents spoiled her from a young age but never expected the outcome.

"Wand owl snitch!"

"Wand owl snitch!"

I came out with a wand while she chose a snitch. The rest of the girls clapped while Mary stormed off to the last bed. I stood up and put my bags under the bed and sat down. No creaking noises to be heard.

I stood up after a moment of enjoying the silence when I jumped around on the bed. Mary had been pouting and staring at the wall in front of her like a child.  I went over to her bed.
"Thanks for playing with me, you were really great. Good game" I held out a hand and she looked at it as if it was the most alien thing to her. She raised her hand and took mine, shaking it. I smiled and went back to my bed, feeling rather good about how the evening went.

Hii just a little note from me explaining the game because it kinda doesn't make sense when you look at it at first

a wand can enchant a snitch so that cancels the snitch
The snitch can fly into an owl (lmao I got nothing els jsksjsjd) and cancels out the owl
But the owl can take your wand so that cancels the wand.
