(3rd Person View)

A woman was sitting at the farthest table at the bar enjoying her drink. From the distance, there is a BOOM -- and then the whistle of an incoming ball -- "Ugh! I haven't even finished my first cup."

She heard more explosions. 'I know those guns!' She looks around. "It's the Black Pearl." The Black Pearl still cannot be seen clearly, but the fog lights up around her with each boom of her guns. She's firing on both sides now, hammering both the fort and the town.

A kid in hiding heard her.

Kid: "The Black Pearl? I've heard stories ... she's been preying on ships and settlements for near ten years ... and never leaves any survivors."

Annie: "There are a lot of stories about the Black Pearl. Believe me, their greed won't let anything get in their way."

Streets, buildings, docks, and ships shatter and explode beneath the onslaught. Villagers panic, run for cover, dodge flying debris as best they can. If this is not hell on earth, then it's about to be. Longboats emerge out of the fog, carrying armed pirates. They swarm from the boats, striking down villagers indiscriminately and setting fires.

Annie: "Run kid. You'll get yourself killed here," She said blankly. The kid looked puzzled as she seemed to know what was going on around them but still didn't care.

Kid: "You can come with me--"

Annie: "Sarah. The name's Sarah. And don't worry about me. Run kid. Run," she tried to shoo him away.

The kid finally ran away but was caught by one of the pirates. "You've got to be kidding me," she mumbled as she took out her dagger and it turned into a sword (imagine whatever sword you want) and slowly walked towards them. She has a unique and rare weapon. In fact, only three exists. It can turn into any hand weapons. Losing it isn't a problem because, once it recognizes its master/owner, it will return to him or her when summoned. She can also make it disappear in thin air.

The boy kept shouting which annoyed the pirate. The pirate raised his sword and was about to stab the kid when Annie interfered.

Annie: "Hey! Pick on someone your own size... Or are you too afraid to?"

Pirate: "I don't want to hit my fellow pirates. Especially a girl."

Annie: "But I love beating up men."

The pirate scoffed as he let go of the boy and tried to attack her. But Annie was faster, the pirate was taken by surprise. One second she was in front of him and she's gone the next.

Annie: "Behind you, asshole."

She stabbed the pirate directly at the heart. The pirate yelled in pain but didn't die. He stumbled backward, into a moonlit area. He turned into a skeleton.

"Well, that's new," she said in complete shock. "Oh dad, what have you gotten yourselves into?" she muttered.

Soon enough, she was surrounded. But, she was too s strong and skilled to be captured.

"Stealth, physical agility, being clever, and strength, both physical and mental, are important components for you to master to become the best," she taught this to herself. She also learned martial arts, how to walk without making a sound, and how to be aware of her surroundings so she can always be ready for whatever problem may come her way.

Of course, she didn't leave without hitting all of them first.

She smirked and grabbed the kid. Together, they went to a safe place.

Annie got water for the both of them and handed one cup to the boy.

Kid: "You were amazing Sarah! But... But you're a pirate?!"

Annie: "I don't really know. I was a pirate, I am a pirate, I will be a pirate again? I don't really know."

Kid: "You're so cool! I want to be a pirate too!"

Annie: "I wouldn't dream of that. So, what's your name, kid?"

Kid: "Bobby. But you can just call me Bob."

Annie: "Well, Bob... you can stay here with me for the rest of the night. You can go back and find your parents tomorrow."

Bob: "Actually, I-I don't have parents. I'm an orphan."

Annie: "Oh. Sorry to hear about that. Then... you can stay here and take care of the house while I'm gone."

Bob: "Where are you going?"

Annie: "I'm gonna go visit an old friend tomorrow, I heard he's in town."

Bob: "Is he also a pirate?" he asked excitedly.

Annie: "He is," there was a long pause. "The greatest pirate I've ever known."

*Meanwhile (Jack's POV)*

The door to the cell block bursts open. A pair of piratesstep in: Koehler and Twigg.

Twig: "This isn't the armory."

He turns to go, but Koehler has spotted me.

Koehler: "(Dutch accent)Well, well ... Look what we have here, Twigg. It's Captain Sparrow."

Twigg: "Huh. The last time I saw you, you were all alone on a God-forsaken island, shrinking into the distance. I'd heard you'd gotten off, but I didn't believe it."

Koehler: "Did you sprout little wings and fly away?"

Twigg: "His fortunes aren't improved much."

The two laugh. I didn't. I step forward, close to the bars. This puts me in a spill of moonlight. I felt tight with fury.

JACK: "Worry about your own fortunes. The lowest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers ... and mutineers."

Koehler and Twigg don't like hearing that. Koehler lashes out, grabs me by the throat through the bars. I clutch the pirate's wrist and look down. Where they enter the moonlight, Koehler's wrists and hands are skeletal. My eyes go wide -- I am holding a skeleton arm.

JACK: "You are cursed."

Koehler sneers and shoves me backward, hard. Now out of the moonlight, his hand is normal. I stare, realizing.

JACK: "The stories are true."

Koehler ushers Twigg toward the door. Looks back.

KOEHLER: "You know nothing of hell."

JACK: "How is she?"

TWIGG: "We lost her."

And then they're gone.

My heart ached when he said they lost her.

JACK: "(quietly) No."

I looked at the tattoo I had on my shoulder. 'My partner, the love of my life... gone?' I felt tears rolling doing my cheeks. I cried myself to sleep.
