Before she could answer, a voice rang out behind them.

JACK: "A-Annie?"

Annie turned to look at him.

ANNIE: "Hello Jacky-boy. I thought be sleeping by now."

Will looked at Jack, then Annie, and back to Jack again. He did not put down his sword.

WILL: "You know her?"

JACK: "The best pirate the world has to offer. Annalise Barbossa."

ANNIE: "I go by Sarah Cormac now. Annalise is being hunted down by the company and I'd be put in jail anytime if I kept that name."

WILL: "I'm pretty sure the best pirate would be a man," he said, eyeing Annie from head to toe.

ANNIE: "Hey! Just because I'm female, doesn't mean I'm not capable," she spat back. "And I'd put down the sword if I were you."

JACK: "Agreed. (whisper to Will) Best do as she says. You still have a damsel-in-distress to save. Hm?"

Will cautiously stood down and headed to the captain's quarters.

ANNIE: "Never thought you'd be the type to work with others... Or are you just planning to use him? Eh?"

JACK: "He helped me, I help him. Then we're even."

ANNIE: "Whatever you say... So, mind telling me how you escaped the island? You know... for informational purposes."

JACK: "The island was a haven for rum-runners. I discovered their stash of liquor, lying on a beach drinking rum for three days, and bartered passage off the isle when the bootleggers return... Its my turn to asked questions. What have you done and where have you been all these years?"

ANNIE: "Nothing much. Just roaming and venturing around the world, making trouble, connections, and deals with other pirates."

JACK: "Why not become a captain? I'm sure you'd make a Pirate Lord. Or you could've become part of a crew," he said as Annie shrugged.

ANNIE: "You should know very well, I don't like being used and ordered around. Yes, I work well with others but I prefer to work alone now."

JACK: "... I thought you died."

ANNIE: "What makes you say that?"

JACK: "They said they lost you days after they left me on that bloody island for dead."

ANNIE: "Losing me doesn't mean I'm dead."

There was silence, both comfortable and not.

JACK: "I've missed you."

ANNIE: "I'm not sure I can say the same thing to you," she stated as she started walking away.

Sparrow watched her hand as she turned away.

JACK: "I'm sorry about what I said that day, love. I didn't mean it... I know it's been too long. But can we still fix this? Us?"

ANNIE: "I'm sorry Jack. But the wind cannot go back to where it used to be. It's still there, it still exists, but it'll be different. Some things can't just go back to how they were."

Jack did his best to keep his composure and hold back tears. He felt himself about to break down.

ANNIE: "We can still be friends, like before. But that's all it's possible."
