Chapter 1: These damn mortals

Xiao pov:

During my incredibly long walk I started to realise several things.

1: Traveling from Liyue to Mondstadt takes longer than I thought.
2: I probably got tricked into fulfilling this awful task.

'Damn you Morax.' I muttered under my breath. Why did I even agree to doing this? I'm the conqueror of demons not the conqueror of..letters. I shouldn't be wasting my time like this.

At long last I arrived in front of the gates of Mondstadt.

Two guards met my eyes as they immediately started questioning me.

'Halt! Who are you and what brings you into Mondstadt?'

'Xiao, Vigilant yaksha, one of the adepti from Liyue.'

The guard gave me a questionable look as if I was a complete stranger, his face disgusts me.

'Vigilant yalksha? What's that?'

With every word this man spoke I got madder and madder. I didn't even set foot in this city and I already hate it here.

'It's yaksha. And do you seriously not know of Liyue's adepti?'

The man shook his head.

'These damn mortals.' I let out a sigh. How is it even possible to be this stupid?

'Listen. I don't care about this city or the people in it but I'm just here to deliver a letter personally from the Geo archon.'

'T-the Geo archon? To who? And isn't he...dead?'

'He's alive what a shocker, now shove it.' I say as I dodge the guards with one swift move and make my way into the city. 'Who the letter is addressed to doesn't concern a idiotic mortal like you. Even if I told you you wouldn't believe me anyway.'

'Should we go after him?' One of the guards asks the other.

'No just leave him be. What if he really is one of these "adepti" things, we could be seriously disrespecting Liyue without even knowing!' The other replies.

'Aw shoot you're right. He better not be up to no good though.' The first says.

Even though it was past midnight already, you could stil clearly hear some lively voices coming from taverns.

'The city of freedom huh? I wonder how things would've been for me if I grew up here.' I start to walk up the steps while looking around. 'Now where do I find the Anemo archon?'

A.n:
I know, I know, the chapters are incredibly short- but I like to do things at my own pace even if it's a little bit slow. I might procrastinate but in the end taking my time makes me end up with the best results and those are what I'm aiming for! Still, I'll try to make the next chapter a bit longer.

Other info:
- The chapter title and remark Xiao made about the guards are based of Haruhi Fujioka's (from ohhc) famous quote "These damn rich people." :)

- the "yalksha" thing was a typo I made while writing and thought it was funny to keep in-
