Tsuki had found herself jolting awake. Almost as if something had forced her to wake up. But it felt so out of the blue. Up until this point, she had been getting a relatively good amount of sleep. Why would she wake up so suddenly. Looking over her shoulder, her daughter had been sleeping peacefully. Her lips forming a brief smile, standing up and walking over to the windowsill. Looking out on the dark sky. The moon shone brightly that particular night. Letting out a soft sigh, taking out from inside her coat an locket. Clicking it open, revealing a picture of her and Nathalie. Standing infront of a gate, kneeling down to match Nathalie's height.

"Ah, her first day at school. I'm still so happy that the security guard was kind enough to take this picture. It was Nathalie's first step to living a normal life. Far away from her.". Her eyes moving over to the other half of her locket. Her standing out in the front of a massive building. Her expression stern and more serious, right beside her was her original employer. Another prodigal genius among geniuses. And yet, Tsuki knew what horrors lay beneath the laboratory. A part of her still carried the guilt of choosing to work for a such a vile person. Her smile vanished, replacing it a neutral expression. Her eyes just staring into the locket. Seeming indifferent, and yet she felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. Seeing that woman in this picture next to her..

"...Ah.", snapping out of her thoughts, her gaze shifting back to the moon. She let out a soft sigh. Turning back, placing the locket back in her dirty coat, taking a seat right next to Nathalie. Seeing how peaceful her daughter looked. Not a care in the world, that's how she sleeps. She wished the world was better right now, but with the way things were, they just had to cope with it. Laying down on the floor next to her daughter, shutting her eyes. Wanting to get some sleep back, knowing it'll be a long day later.

"Mom. Look. I found something.". Walking over to her daughter's side, and taking the object Nathalie had found on the ground. A can of peas that somehow managed to stay intact. The mother rolled her eyes, putting it into her bag. She hated beans. But they had no other option. All the pieces of food that they could have, they had to take.

"Thanks, Sweetie. Good job.", putting her hand on Nathalie's head, giving it a soft, gentle pat. The two of them moved forward with their scavenge. Nathalie held her gun tightly, always making sure to keep an eye on her surroundings. Just as her mom had taught her. Staying close to Tsuki's side, the two of them traversing the city together.

The two of them ventured on, but Tsuki seemed out of it. Her mind wandered somewhere else. Thinking about something else. Wearing a blank expression, her body almost stumbled forward as if she had slowly been falling asleep.

"..Mom.... Mom!". The sharp voice of Nathalie brought her back to her senses.

"Ah- Sorry sorry. I've been.. thinking. Sorry.". Nathalie stopped, tilting her head as she looked at her mother with a curious expression.

"Mom? Are you thinking about your boyfriend?". Tsuki's eyes widened a bit, looking at Nathalie confused.

"Boyfriend? Dear, I don't have a boyfriend. You're.. Ah-". She realized soon enough who Nathalie was talking about.

"Listen Sweetie. He's not my boyfriend per say.... Just that he was old acquaintance of mine. Yes.".

"Per say? Mom, that's just an excuse adults make when they don't want children to believe them. He's your boyfriendddd.".

"Nathalie. What have I told you about your tone?".

"S-sorry... But then why are you so bothered over him?". Putting a hand over cheek, pondering on the question herself. She couldn't figure why he was popping up frequently in her thoughts. But was she that obvious? Was it so easy to read her that a nice year old girl was able to read her thoughts that easily?
