Flee to Survive

Poem February 12, 2015

I feel you close
I know you're there
I sense the heavy burden you bare
I hear the call you make
The noise is deafening.
I wait for you
I thought of you
Why are you coming?
I have done nothing.
I need to leave
I need to hide
I wouldn't survive
When you arrive.
Your presence is becoming heavier
My senses are becoming sharper
I feel slow, yet fast.
I know you're coming for me
I know that I won't survive.
I know that I should flee
But... I can't.
