A boring presentation after the other as I fight the urge to yawn. Jazz turns seems to be now as she stands up, runs her hands over the edge of her dress before picking up her scattered papers and heading towards the stage-like spot facing the entire class.

She talks about wild plants which attracts their preys with their colored petals and sweet scents. I start to feel self-conscious as she states mind blowing facts, along with the way her body language is. She paces around confidently, as her eyes connect with everyone as if she's a professional professor. She smiles towards Niall as she gives weird names about dangerous plants and continuing, before saying, "That way they guide their victim step by step to achieve what they want."

With that she ends her speech and we give her an applause, which seems a bit immature but who cares anyway. Jazz returns back to her seat among Niall and I, before smiling to me then whispering to Niall's ears, "beat that!"

He stands up, smirking as he looks at her before he turns and walks to the front spot. In my opinion, Niall's topic shows the real meaning of cooperation and how it brings harmony even between animals. I laugh mentally as I remember that my topic is actually the total opposite.

He talks about the strong relationship between crocodiles and a type of birds with a strange name. His topic indicates that this bird is metaphorically an alarm to alert the reptile if any prey is near to hunt it and in return it would allow the bird to eat the pieces stuck between its teeth. He ends up giving his conclusion, "This shows us that you should give anyone, no matter who, a chance to be trusted and depended on."

I actually agree with him, everyone needs a chance.

Even Zayn?

No!

But why?

He had enough!

I battle with myself as Niall dismisses himself to the restroom, making my way to the front. This is quite distressful, but I challenge myself. It wasn't difficult for Jazz so it shouldn't be that way for me.

I count my steps till I reach where I should stand, clear my throat and dart my eyes to face everyone. Mrs. Ashton asks me about my sheet but I reassure her that I have learned my speech by heart. She gives me an approval nod and I take that as my chance to start.

Just look randomly, I remind myself.

"I'll be talking about scorpions," I start, examining my voice. Thankfully, it doesn't crack which motivates me to continue.

"It's often known as ''Scorpions bite'' but in fact, scorpions sting. They sting insects and spiders in order to paralyze their movement before preying them."

I take a breath as the door opens, and steps in Niall. I continue, anxiety fading each second, "When scorpions get furious, they sting whatever or whoever blocks their way. Their tails are similar to sharp pins, along with sacs filled with scorpions poison. Usually the poison doesn't kill humans or big animals but a large amount of it would lead to death as it could be described as a dangerous drug which alters chemical reactions in the body and sensory perception that interferes with the nervous system and how it works."

Just as how it's planned, I read it out loud proudly with my head up. My eyes flicker between the various expressions on everyone's face, which satisfy me. "Basically it gradually shuts down the body forever. It causes severe pain as well. With the mention of pain, if a human had exposure to a scorpion sting more than once, the sense of pain is diminished somehow than ever before."

Niall's part flashes in my mind, reminding me with my next paragraph just as I stop. "Unlike ants and bees, scorpions do not know the meaning of a social live or communicating with each other but actually hatred is among them specially between females. If by chance, they bumped into each other, they would scuffle until one of them gets defeated."

The next part is going to be the bomb for sure. I mentally laugh evilly, "Sexual intercourses occur through four months which starts in May. After being a ''husband material'', the male scorpion is eaten by his ''wife''." Everyone, literally everyone gasps which makes me sink into joy and glee. "Female scorpions carries her eggs over her back until the eggs hatch then exit the young scorpions. They remain on the back of their mother for about two weeks to end up devouring her."

I speak the last words with emphasis before signing that I'm done. I look down at my sandals and then at the class. Some got their mouths wide open and some have blank expressions. I look down again at my sandal, but before sadness makes its way, someone roars with, "Karma is a bitch."

I receive applause and cheers.

Who knew college life would be the best?
