Chapter 8

Anna's POV:
This is why I never bring back my hookups. But it was just Eva, she wouldn't tell Katie, would she? It made everything worse because all of the history Eva and I have. I immediately sent Rachel home without saying anything to her.

"Who is she?", Rachel asked. Who is she?. "Just get out", I said pointing to the door. She took her purse, and left the house. Who is she?

My bestfriend that I had feelings for and had feelings for me too, who later became a stranger, and now my bestfriend again.

I went to my room and closed the door, confused as to what was going on, and what would happen next. Eva, the girl I used to think about all the time, had seen me with a girl. Was she jealous? Probably not since she has a boyfriend, and has pretty much moved on. But what if she didn't?

The other problem was, that the girl wasn't the same girl she had seen me with the other night. Would Katie mind? Katie knows we are just friends, she wouldn't mind. Was Eva mad? Probably.

I called Eva multiple times that day, she never answered. I did send her multiple texts, but I got no replies.

~9:00pm, Eva returns from her date~

Eva's POV:

I hated the date. It was absolutely the worst date I've been in my life. Connor was trying to seduce me, but he isn't even hot. Maybe I was a lesbian? But Harry Styles.

I almost broke up with him when he put two chopsticks inside his nostrils. I asked him to drop me home, and before I went in, I checked my phone. Holy shit, I had nine missed calls from Anna.

I barged through the door, wondering if she was alright. She wasn't there, so I ran to her room. I stumbled open the door.

There she was, laying on the bed playing Fortnite, as if nothing had happened. "What?", Anna asked. "I was worried sick? Why did you call me nine times?", I yelled. "First of all, calm down, I called you because I wanted to talk to you about this morning, did you forget?".

How could I forget. Every part of me hated it. I wondered if it was because she was cheating, or because I was jealous. It was definitely the cheating, I told myself. But deep down, I always knew. "Oh, yeah".

She pat the bed next to her, signaling for me to sit. "It's not what it looks like I swear".

"What do you mean? You fuck one girl during the morning, and another during the night", I could feel myself getting angry.

"Well yes, but it's not like that, we are just friends", she said as she grabbed my arm, and signaled me to sit next to her again. I felt it butterflies. I'm probably just tired. I sat next to her,  "Yeah, friends who fuck", I said rolling my eyes while taking of my shoes.

"There is nothing wrong with that Eva. We don't have any feelings involved", she said pulling me closer, so that I wouldn't fall of the bed. I felt it again. I looked at her, "Cheating, is cheating".

She sighed, "Katie doesn't care. She was only with me because...", she stopped, and looked right back at me. Again. "Because?". She looked away, and so did I. "To move on from you". Some part of me squealed inside, while the other shattered into pieces. "Oh", I said, at a loss of words.

We stayed silent for a while. "Have you?", I let out.

"I'm not sure, have you?", she turned her head to me. I was looking right at her, "not sure". She looked away, and so did I.

"And, Katie knows that, so she will understand", she said after a minute of silence.

"Are you sure?", I said, knowing that Katie cares a lot about Anna. I had grown to like Katie, although I always envied of what she had with Anna. Katie was the nicest girl ever, and was very hot too.

"What do you mean?", she said confused.

"I don't know how you don't see it, but Katie cares a lot about you", I said.

"Yeah, but it's not like that", she said as she let out a chuckle.

"Okay, but just saying", I said. Katie did truly love Anna. Anna didn't see it, but I saw it. I felt bad for her. Although some part of me was happy, I knew that Katie deserved better. What Katie and Anna have, was what I wonder what I could have had with Anna. What if, I had just asked for her to stay. What if I had asked for her to sleep next to me that night. I wonder, and will always wonder.

"Can I sleep here tonight?", I asked.

She turned her head to me and smiled, "Of course". There, I felt it again. She stretched to the desk near her, and handed me a controller. "First, Fortnite", she said smiling. "Okay, but you have to teach me", I said.

We stayed up till 2:00 A.M playing fortnite. After we decided to sleep, I shifted next her, and I fell asleep in her arms.
