NANA'S GRAVE

Just a while away from U.A., a traditional graveyard or cemetery was built. It's age is almost as old as when quirks started to appear, but I know it was older.

After the fight with Overhaul, I made my way here. I have taken the quirks of Eri and Chisaki, 2 quirks whose abilities can most likely revive a dead person. Overhaul can destroy or repair anything he touches and Eri's can Rewind living things. I'm sure you know what I was about to do.

"Hold on Nana, It'll be a few seconds" I said pointing a finger down to her coffin.

I sent down a Rivet combined with Rewind, in hopes to rewind the body back to when her body was fully functioning. I admit, I was a bit skeptical if this would work, Surely if there was a god, we would definitely put a limit this. Also, I hoped it didn't turn out that she needs her soul to be intact or otherwise I'll get a lifeless body that is healthy.

'Nana. Come back'

"Rewind," I said.

The ground seems like it glowed or a few seconds before finally disappearing. The Rewind quirk is a power Stockpiling quirk like Yagi's. If I charge it a day by not using it, then I can rewind a day but with my other quirks, I can boost this to make a second an hour at most and I've had the quirk long enough to Rewind Nana back to perfect condition.

I waited for a while but, I couldn't sense any pulse underneath the dirt.

'Failed huh'

Instead, I placed a hand on top of the dirt and used Overhaul, to move the dirt away in a V shape crater where Nana's coffin was perfectly centered in the middle. The rain continued to flood and now water was reaching my ankle. I walked over to the brown coffin and placed a hand on top where the top part bursted into dozens of splinters in all directions.

"Mom?" I said as I examined her now healthy body.

"(sigh) I guess the soul really does need to be intact"

Her body looked like she had never died but I can't sense that none of her body systems are working. No heartbeat, lungs breathing, blood flowing, just an empty shell of someone I wanted back. I won't lie, I almost shed a tear at the disappointment. Logically, as long as the body functions, life should be restored but I guess the laws of nature had something to combat against my quirks.

I thought about disassembling her body and repairing it but, it seemed a bit disrespectful.

"Ha, sorry for bothering you Nana. I'll....leave you now" I said fixing the top of her coffin.

I walked out of the V shaped crater and placed my hand back down, to fill in the gap. Now my hair was soaked and I didn't bother to dry it with Furnace. I felt...discouraged. My dream, I wanted to complete it with my mother next to me. I had already lost family once and now letting the fact it happened twice, I couldn't help but go mad.
