Chapter 22

Josies POV
I lay there in shock and confusion. I hear loud running and see wolves coming. I panic 'that's it, I'm dead' I close my eyes ready to get eaten. Nothing happens so I open my eyes and see Paul coming over. 'Was he the wolf?' He lays next to me and cradles me "Jo?Jo,what happened?" He asks. I wince finally feeling a pain and look at my wrist. She got in a bit. Paul looks where I'm looking and sees it. He looks mad and I see Sam and Jared here too,looking. "Cullen" Paul says mad "no" I shake my head and hear others appear. "Josie" Carlisle says and tries to get near me but Paul growls warning him. 'Growl? Growl?!' I'm so confused, what's happening. "I need to get the little venom out of her"Carlisle says'what?! Get what out of me?!' Paul looks hesitant but nods and moves back. Carlisle comes over and grabs my wrist and uses his own teeth to suck out the venom. 'He's one!' He let's go and I scoot back to Paul,scared of Carlisle. Paul wraps his arm around me protectively"Josie you need to come with me"Carlisle says "no" I say, my voice shaky. "I need to check you" he says glancing to my stomach 'I do need to check but I don't trust him' "only if Paul can come"I say.He considers it "ok but he's your problem" he says knowing I haven't told anyone and he is gonna find out. I nod understanding "we'll meet you there in a sec"Paul says and Carlisle nods.They leave and I look to Paul "I'll explain everything when we're done" he says "ok" I say and he picks me up. "I'll be back Sam" he says and we go to the Cullens. "What happened?" He asks "I was going to you,to tell you something but she stopped me"I say"what was it?Why does he need to check you?" He asks. "Paul...I'm...I'm pregnant" I say and he stops. "w-what?" He asks shocked "and it's yours, confirmed" I say. He starts walking again while thinking "how long?" He asks "I'm 12 weeks, please don't abandon me, please don't abandon us, don't abandon our child" he melts at what I said "no, never, I'll be here" he says. We arrive and Carlisle takes us to a room that looks like a doctors room. Paul puts me sat up on the lay out. "I have the pictures" he says and hands them to me. I grab them quickly and look through them "Paul look" I say. He looks through them with me. "Ok, done, baby's good and fine, so should you" Carlisle says. I didn't realize he already checked on me. "Thanks" I say and Paul helps me stand."Josie—we stop walking—me and my family would never hurt you or Bella" Carlisle says and I nod and we walk out. Me and Paul walk away "don't tell anyone, I still haven't yet" I say "that's gonna be a problem—I look at him giving the 'why' face—it's in the explanation" he says. "When is the explanation? I have questions and where are we going?" I ask "to Sams, I'll explain there" he says. We get to Sams and Sam,Emily and Jared are here. "Emily?Why are you here?"I ask "in the explanation" Paul says starting to get annoyed by my constant questions. We sit down and they explain everything. "Wolves?—the nod—vampires?—they nod again—and imprinting,that's just weird but now I understand, I don't blame you anymore Em" I say. "What exactly happened before we found you?" Sam asks and I explain. "How did you scream like that?" Jared asks."I don't know...but she called me a banshee" I say "we'll talk with the elders" Sam says "and since you can read each other's minds, I should probably just say it, I'm pregnant and it's Paul's" I say. "Congrats sweetie" Emily says "thanks Em" I say "who all knows?" Sam asks. "Just you guys and Carlisle, I don't know how to tell anyone else" I say. "Not even your dad?" Jared asks "especially him and since I haven't told him,I can't buy things to be ready like diapers, bottles, clothes and a bed" I say. "Your stressing too much sweetie" Emily says and I sigh knowing she's right. "Well I better go, I've been out long and dad's probably worried" I say standing up. "Do you know how stressed, worried and concerned I'll be when your gone, I'll be visiting a lot now" Paul says, I laugh and he stands. He kisses my forehead and hugs me. "Be careful and safe" he says "I will" I say and leave.

Carlisles POV
I walk to the living room to where the rest of my family are."You just let her go with them?" Rose asks mad "she wanted to go with them, I couldn't force her to stay and she just needs time, she's scared" I say."You said we have to protect her and she's part of this family and you just let her go with those mutts, they're dangerous and horrible" Rose says "we are protecting her, she is part of the family but I think they won't hurt her" Esme says. "Does the same go for Bella?" Jasper asks "no, she's more apart of this family than Josie will ever be, she will have nothing to do with them, I'll make sure to it" Edward says harshly.
