I woke up. What the hell happened? How much time has passed? Not long, I could tell that. Maybe 2 minutes at the most. He didn't get me. I got to my feet and seen the puddle of blood where I was laying. Oh shit, thats not good. I pushed that from my mind and ran in the direction of the footprints.
Before long I ran into an object that I have no idea what or who it was. My eyes cleared up. It was Joe, Jeffs brother. "Joe! What the hell are you doing out here?" I shouted. "I'm looking for Jeff! I followed you guys out here, not knowing what else to do." "Well come on! Help me up! Let's go." Joe helped me up, and we ran off deeper into the woods.
They deeper we got the more I realized how creepy the woods can be. The branches just got thicker and thicker to the point where we couldn't even run anymore. We got the edge of this small little cliff, maybe 4 feet high with a cave underneath. Joe said, "Where do you think they went?" "I don't know." I replied. "I went unconsious, not for too long, but I have no idea where they could be." Silence. We stood there, not knowing what to do.
Then a pebble hit the back of my head. By instinct I flung around and drew my knife from my belt. Nothing was there. Another rock hit me in the head. A grin came on my face. A grabbed for my phone, it was still there. I used the flashlight mode to brighten it up. And in the cage I seen a shivering Jeff and Zoe. "Woah, good hiding place, you guys!" They began to crawl out without saying a word. "What's wrong?" Joe asked. You could never shut Jeff up. But now he's silent. Silently, Zoe pointed to behind us. There were 5 of them. The huge monsterious creatures. All the same height, with the same tentacles coming out from behind them. They started to move towards us.
"Run!" Zoe shouted. We all turned and ran without hesitation. We must have ran for three minutes straight, checking back every now and then to see if they were still behind us, they always were the same distance.
The trees began to thin out, and we made it onto a plain. We stopped around a fourth of the way through and look back. There was one of them there. We were all out of breath. We seen them spread out into a semi circle around half of the woods. "Where the hell are we?" Joe asked. "I have no idea, I've been this far out into the woods." I answered. Its true, we must be at least a mile deep in these god foresaken trees.
"We gotta get to the other tree line!" Jeff shouted. I was open to any ideas at this point in time. "Lets go! Move it!" I yelled. We all turned and ran. We were about halfway through when we reached a ten foot drop off. "Jump for it!" Jeff yelled, trying to sound like the leader. We all jump and landed and flopped all over the place. We were on ice. We grouped together once we were all right. "Is everyone all right?" I hollared. A flood of, "Yea, I'm fines." came flooding into my ears.
"The ice spreads out two hundred feet in every direction!" Jeff sounded worried. "Well, then what are we waiting for?" Joe responded. We all started to slide forwards on the ice. I looked back and there was a huge crack where we all landed, not to mention the Slender Men were standing on the drop off.
"The ice is cracked behind us, move faster and watch your step!" I notified everyone. "Oh, bloody hell!" Jeff responded. We all continued to shuffle along the ice, as fast as we could without falling, even though we did on occasion. We continued to scramble along the ice until we were around fifty feet from the edge. I heard a cracking sound. "Come on, come on, move your asses! It's cracking!" I alerted everyone. Even Joe, who was the "heaviest" one here, if you know what I mean, seemed to move a little faster. He was at the end though, and if one of us was going in, it's him. I tossed him the lifejacket and he held onto it tight.
"Keep moving!" Joe yelled once he got it over his head. Suddenly a crack came between all of feet. "Stop moving!" I yelled as loud as I could. "Ok." I continued. "Zoe, Jeff, you two step off to the right and walk to the edge of the ice. Then follow the border to meet up with Joe and I on the left, got it?" Everyone nodded, and without another word we stepped off.
We all made it, and regrouped. We continued to move forward towards the treeline. We were all far too tired to run any more, we could to save our lives. But not very long. We reached the treeline and huddled up because we needed a plan.
I got in the huddle and said, "Ok, guys. It's obvious we need a plan. I think we should try to loop around and get back to the house. Maybe then we can make it further into town and be safe. Any questions?" Nobody had time to answer. We heard a twig snap back on the plain.
It was them, all five of them. Standing there. Appearing to have no heads, blending into the snow behind them. There suits standing out. But there tentacles, forming a wall. No going back now, it was twenty feet high and at lest fourty feet wide. They're only 3 feet away from us.
