Buzz. Buzz.
Groaning, an ash blond haired male sat up in his bed. The sheets had been carelessly tossed aside in the later hours of the night, and were laying on the floor. The room was dark, the blackout curtains keeping most of the hot sun beams outside. Nonetheless, it was already getting warm in his dorm.
Katsuki opened his carmine hued eyes, exhaling an already tired breath. His alarm continued buzzing until Katsuki let his hand fall limply onto the button, closing his eyes briefly before rolling into a sitting position. His phone screen lit up the dark room, white color shedding light onto Katsuki's features. He stood up, mumbling something and opening up his dresser.
Among his many clothes, Katsuki chose a graphic tee and some jeans, tucking in the tee until it looked good enough. He threw on some vans and grabbed his phone off his nightstand, rubbing one eye and then going into the bathroom. Looking at himself in the mirror groggily, he turned on a light and set his phone in his pocket. He turned on the faucet, splashing ice cold water onto his face a few times. Looking up at himself in the mirror, Katsuki sighed.
He looked decent, only a light outline of the eye bags underneath his eyes, and his eyes themselves not puffy. He quickly freshened up, brushing his teeth and putting his deodorant on. His phone began to buzz again, this time his alarm reading 'ten min'
Spitting out the rest of his toothpaste, he gurgled some water and washed his toothbrush off, taking a mint before heading out of his dorm. Immediately as he walked out of the elevator and into the common area, he was greeted by an odd smell and clamoring of his classmates.
"Baku-" "Shut up." Katsuki waved off Mina, irritation pricking at the edge of his mind. He wasn't really a morning person, and they knew that. Taking piece of toast from her plate, he continued towards the door, mentally complaining about the obvious outside. "Oh c'mon, don't be like that!" She said, smiling at him. He already didn't like her, but on top of that she was dating Kirishima.
He ignored her, taking a bite of her toast and opened the door, groaning as heat hit like a wave, skin prickling uncomfortably. The air was stuffy, even outside. There was hardly even a breeze, and when there was it merely pushed the hot air around. Slinging his backpack more comfortably over his shoulder, Katsuki started towards the main building. Music played in his earbuds, ignoring anyone who called to him in greetings.
When he entered the halls not far from his classroom, his eyes drifted to a stop on a familiar face. Shit.
Kirishima was beside Kaminari and Sero at his locker. His hair was styled into its usual dragon-like spikes, his face sweet and happy. Katsuki felt the familiar feeling in his chest, pulse rising up to his head and drumming in his temples. His breath quickened, hot embers smoldering in his chest. The air felt hot — too hot, akin to whenever he accidentally overheated the bath water.
Wrenching his murky vermillion eyes from Kirishima's bright crimson ones, Katsuki turned up the music in his ears to drown out the pounding of his heartbeat. He brushed by the group, doing his best to ignore the way his and Kirishima's shoulders brushed, sparking at the embers threatening to flame in Katsuki's chest.
"Alright class, today..." Aizawa's tired voice droned on as Katsuki sat in his seat, backpack hitting the ugly tile floor. The air in front of Katsuki's eyes wavered, heat making it sultry in the room. Katsuki tugged at his shirt in a futile attempt to relieve some of the heat from his skin. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Mina and Kirishima talking together, causing another wave of emotion — this time in his gut, twisting with unease and disgust. Jealousy arched and twisted like a flame within Katsuki's thoughts, muddling his thought process.
Katsuki turned his priorities to what was his teacher was saying, but the words were dull and lifeless, causing the Katsuki to tip his head back onto the back of his seat in what was something like fatigue. The hour passed the same as usual, Katsuki paying absolutely no attention, since he already knew all of the shit they were going over. "Class dismissed."
He felt sweat pricking at his hairline, and he stood up, heading out towards lunch. It was worse outside, the suns all-too hot beams blazing down and hitting Katsuki with the force of a brick. He turned back immediately on his heel, going back to the inside cafeteria.
He sat down at a booth, picking idly at his food. It was delicious, but there was no hunger in his stomach, instead the smoldering feeling from Kirishima burning within him. The flames licked at his consciousness, thoughts of the redhead flooding his mind like a wildfire.
"Bakugou!!"
Shit.
Katsuki's heartbeat rapidly quickened, the heat within himself intensifying at the sound of Kirishima's voice. The friendly, adorable boy he dreamt about too much appeared across from him, the smile of his dreams causing Katsuki's heartbeat to pound like a drum. He was surprised Kirishima couldn't hear it himself.
"Shitty hair." He poured concentration into his expression, forcing an emotionless shield onto his features. A shield from the raging fire within himself. "The fuck do you want?" He spoke gruffly, ignoring the other extras as they slid into place. His skin felt tight, hot.
"Just wanted to hang out with ya! You're my best friend, you know?" Kirishima's voice was dripping with unintentional affection, fondness for the ash blonde who was having a heart attack at the tone.
Shit shit, pull yourself together Katsuki. You've kept it up for so long, you can't let him know. "In your dreams." Katsuki grunted, breath hitching as Kirishima's crimson eyes met his. It only lasted for a second though, because Mina slid into Kirishima's lap, placing kisses all over his face. Katsuki's skin tightened, and his fingers curled into fists. His pulse thickened, blocking out Kirishima's affectionate words.
Without another word, Katsuki stood abruptly and shoved past Kaminari and Sero, breath coming more quickly, his body felt aflame, uncomfortable in his own skin. He stumbled into the bathrooms, slumping against the tile walls and locking the door. His fingers tangled in his slightly damp hair, tugging harshly. What the fuck was that? What the fuck? Katsuki grasped at straws, setting his backpack down and nearly tripping on his own feet on the way to the sink.
The cool water met his face with a feeling similar to peace, relieving some of the fire burning within him. He needed to get out of his head. He was sick- sick, right. He usually didn't feel like this. So.. so warm. But not comfortingly warm. A warm that smothered his thoughts, blocking out any concentration. Warmth that thickened the air in his lungs, making it hard to breath.
With that single thought plaguing his mind, Katsuki headed out of the bathrooms and towards his dorm. Ignoring the way "his group" looked after him with confused expressions.
